WORTH IT$2,400
I wanted this procedure ever since I was a kid and realized that basically anyone I encountered had an innie and I had an outie. It made me feel like a monster. It didn't help that any women you see in [RS bleep] have non-existent labia. One time I was at the gynecologist and he turned to his assistant and said "big labia." None of my boyfriends have ever said anything to me. I just wanted to feel normal so I booked in with Dr. Lockwood at the First Glance Aesthetic clinic. Really nice guy and made me feel comfortable. He had before and after photos on their website, which was a big thing for me because many in the area didn't seem to.
I got my procedure on the 11th. It only took like 45 minutes and all the staff were really nice. The pain after wasn't too bad. You're really swollen after. Peeing while pouring water over the area and using a bag of frozen peas on the area seems to help a lot. I don't have a high pain tolerance and the pain is bearable. I will be posting photos as I recover so you can see my recovery journey :)

Thanks for the post!! I just had the same surgery at the same place on the same day!! I'm recovering well but overdid it today with being on my feet too much. I started to feel awful but no choice as no one to watch my kids!! Finally took some meds in the evening, icing the area and in bed. Hope the results are good. Haven't heard much reviews of this dr for this specific surgery but hope it turns out! Think I will go back to work ties. How about you?

I too have always felt weird down there and that it was different than most ladies.

That's so cool! I went to work on Monday - I have the option to work from home so it worked out good.

Wow. I went to work wed. Wasn't ready until then. Still having some pain by the end of the work day. Luckily it's more of a desk job. Start in to get itchy where the stitches are... Still pretty swollen and scary looking!

Had you General anesthesia?
March 15, 2016
Was it painful? I would like to have mine done..but i'm scared about surgery! Do they shave you before surgery?
March 15, 2016
No, I shaved myself. They give you prescription painkillers. I didn't feel anything during the surgery because I was sleeping for most of it. They give you pills to make you sleepy.

45 mins. The only painful part was the needles to freeze you. Three on each side.

The after pain is not as bad as I thought. Mostly it's just swollen and awkward to walk. I have been taking one percocet in the morning and one before I go to bed although you can take up to two ever four to six hours. I have not needed that many. I don't however know how people resume normal activities the next day, unless maybe they got the trim rather than the wedge method and maybe that's easier to recover from.

Did you stay one night at hospital or you sent home immediately after surgery? Now how healing is proceeding? In the last pics you poster it seem the recovery is proceeding very fast, it doesn't seem you had surgery! I will have consultation tomorrow! Seeing your result i'm very confident as my current carina is very similar to your before surgery! I usually shaved by myself, leaving the LANDING STRIP...have I to shave it completely or I can leave the LANDING STRIP for surgery? I look at your photo and it seem you also have LANDING STRIP, but it's not very clear...maybe you have bionde hair? I look forward to seeing your recovery photo and seeing you results! I'm also 27 years old like you!

No I did not stay in a hospital. You can home right after. Yes I have blonde hair and they did not tell me to do anything hair wise - I don't think it matters what you have. I'll post more pics in a few days. Right now I still look like the last photo.

You will need to have someone pick you up and drive you home after the procedure and stay with you 24 hours. My husband picked me up and took care of me.
March 16, 2016
So you left landing strip shaving for surgery? How is recovery? Is it painful?

What do you wear for surgery? It's my first time in the operating room and i'm totally scared! I have boobs piercing...i have to take them off?

Yes, I had a landing strip while in the OR room. I had to take all my piercings out. They give you instructions when you book on what you have to do. You also can't have alcohol 24 hours before surgery.
March 17, 2016
Nothing but the gown they give you, a hair net and these socks they give you.
March 18, 2016
I never had to wear the hair net! Had the compression stockings though. I hardly remember the procedure. I was out of it as well. The freezing was a little painful but it was over quickly and felt nothing.
March 18, 2016
I have extremely long hair so that might be why I had to wear the hair net. The needles to freeze were honestly the worst part of the whole thing

First of all, congrats on your surgery :) Secondly, your gynecologist was terribly insensitive to make that remark! I too had prominent labia and know how uncomfortable it can be - physically, mentally and emotionally. I'm glad you were brave enough to go through the surgery and have had a good recovery so far. Keep resting, icing and don't overdo it. Again, congrats and I look forward to seeing your results!

Mine too. It's normal. It's only been a week. My stitches are starting to come out as the swelling comes down. The itching is part of the healing process.
Welcome to the community, I am so glad that you decided to share your journey with us. Definitely looks like you're healing well. Did you have the trim or the wedge technique?
