I had my second breasts revision and first benelli...

I had my second breasts revision and first benelli lift by Dr. Motykie on December 21st, and the results far exceeded my expectations! Thank you Dr. M, you've restored my confidence, and I'm forever grateful!

My story: 2012 my 1st surgery with a Top Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Toronto, who comes off as soft spoken, kind and genuine (is anything but a good surgeon). I ended up with capsular contractor in both breasts, lateral displacement (both sides), and bottoming out of my left breast. I was slim, and athletic so I wanted a natural look (anatomical was my preference but he'd urged me not to). Anyhow the surgeon refused to admit that he made surgical errors, and kept telling me they looked great even though I was in chronic pain, and had visible hardening etc. At the time, I couldn't afford a revision with another doctor, and since in Toronto, most Doctor's won't do another surgeons revision, I insisted that he at least correct the CC, and replace the HP's with MOD PLUS. He agreed to do ONLY that.

When I work up from the revision, the surgeon told me that the implants kept falling off my chest and into my armpits again, so he stitched down the pockets (on the side) even though he told me he wouldn't do it before hand. When I took my bra off for the first time, I was in disbelief. The pockets were clearly over corrected, so much so, that the implants weren't even round. They were squarish at the top, almost touching in the middle, no side boob, and square bottoms. They sat up almost to my collar bone, and my nipples hung off like old overstretched socks, pointing downwards in opposite directions. I felt mutilated, and the doctor refused to correct it, saying they looked fine that I just needed to gain weight, or opt for a breast lift and would have to pay 13K for it, and told me to go to another surgeon if I wasn't happy. I was humiliated that I still looked mutilated, and I ended up with capsular contractor AGAIN and waited years before I could afford a revision, with a doctor who could actually fix this.

Back to DR. Motykie - I couldn't find before and after pictures quite like his, and I'm proof that his work is NOT photo shopped - I look just like his 'after' revision photos!!!
Steps:
1 - Emailed my pre-op/ and post op photos to the consultants
2 - Dr. M who said that I likely would NOT need a lift, but that a dual plane revision should suffice (so not trying to con me into spending more money) - I didn't even know what DP was.
3 - I booked the surgery (prior to reading some terrifying yelp reviews), but when I finally got to the office, everyone was so kind. YES, I waited two hours from the time I was supposed to see Dr. M but in that time, they showed me a book of boobs with different sizes/projections, and asked me to pick 2 photos of breasts that I really wanted for myself, and 2 that I absolutely did not want
5 - I met Dr. Motyike - and I'll admit, he's not the warmest person I'd ever met, BUT he DID listen to EXACTLY what I wanted and put me at ease that he could fix me :). He's got a bit of an edge, so I can see why some people would say that he doesn't have the best bedside manner BUT we discussed everything (cohesive vs. memory gel) which my previous surgeon didn't tell me about. He told me that I'd need drains (previous surgeon didn't use them), pocket reshaping (so that they would be round, and not have that weird flexing issue), massaging (previous doctor didn't) and benelli lift. I requested the lift, so that I wouldn't have to have another surgery again later (gravity will eventually take over, so I'd rather just do it now)...He said that with the dual plane, that I may not need it, however, asked me SEVERAL times if I was sure that I wanted it. We agreed that he would make a judgement call in the OR if he felt there was still too much postisis that he would do the lift, otherwise, he would leave it alone.
8 - I signed papers consenting to (full capsolotomy, pocket revision, implant exchange to the size and type of my preference, benelli lift)
9 - Next day, I had my surgery and my breasts already looked perfect! They were round, soft, natural - everything I asked for and more! I was blow away!
10 - I didn't see him for my post op visit because of travel issues - but his nurses took great care of me, and I healing well.

Overall 100% surgical perfection. I could care less about what he does on his own time, or if he's cocky - He's a brilliant surgeon and that ALL that mattered to me! I got what I wanted, and he's restored my confidence!

Although Dr. Motykie didn't spend much time with me prior to my surgery (I'm from out of town), when I did arrive for my surgical assessment the day before surgery, he DID answer all of my questions, and was very informative and understanding of what I wanted to achieve. He told me things I was never explained by my previous surgeon, did not rush me, and was quite kind actually. I had all of my pre and post surgical care done by his incredible staff that was always responsive (via phone or email). They are a group of knowledgeable, and experienced front of house staff (everyone from reception, to surgical consultants (Diane, and Sandi), medical assistant (Shegell), my OR nurse, and post OR care nurse you were all AMAZING!!!! I felt that I was in good hands the whole time, and I know why Dr. Motykie trusts them to do everything but the operation, so that he can be the master creator in the OR room, which is truly what matters most! The entire group really is awesome! Thank you!!
