Because the cancer kept returning in the same area, finally the skin itself and remaining upper chest tissue had to go. I faced losing the implant and any prior reconstruction work and potentially having a really awful profile. I had many consults with different plastic surgeons as I decided the proper course to take. Dr. Rad's creative approach and remarkable talent ultimately made the choice easy. His reputation with everyone I spoke with is sterling! Nurses, doctors, operating room staff, everyone! They all recognize that he is a perfectionist and that drive for perfection really shows in his work. No fun having surgery, but he and his fantastic staff made it as easy for me as possible, coordinating with insurance, answering questions, everything done with a smile -- and I am now cancer-free with very natural decolletage!

When I interact with Dr. Rad, it's always like talking with a compassionate friend. For my procedures, he communicated very well exactly what he would be doing and I had no surprises. The latissimus flap surgery and outcome were just as he described and exactly as I expected them to be. The entire procedure still amazes me, and thinking of how things could have been without his expertise really makes me count my blessings. Other surgeons I interviewed always seemed in a hurry, and presented their solutions without really wanting to know very much about me and my lifestyle. I always have the impression that Dr. Rad thinks very deeply about his patients and his decisions regarding their treatment. I know that my situation was particularly challenging for him as the area had been operated on repeatedly before and had been treated with radiation. He rose to the challenge and now it's all finished, with the rest of a long life ahead of me. Hooray and thanks Dr. Rad!!!

How wonderful, thank you for posting! Did you lose the implant? What procedure did you end up having? Congrats on being cancer-free!

The implant stayed, Dr. Rad was able to work his magic by using the latissimus flap surgery and fat grafting. And it all looks wonderfully natural! Thanks so, Chris, for your kind words. Life is good!
Chris, can you add a line to the my post saying how Dr. Rad solved the problem? Thanks!
