VBeam Was Worth It for Me
I did this treatment based on doctors khanna’s recommendation. After disappointing results at other clinics with IPL i really thought I would have to live with the inflammation and redness forever. But after a consultation with Doctor Khanna, he convinced me to take a last shot with VBeam. He was pretty clear I would have bruising if the treatment would work.
Now, to be clear, I am very fair and bruise easily. Any bruise lasts quite a while on me. And the bruising on VBeam is no different. A week of dark purple, a week of noticeable brown, and if the bruise is in an area where the inflammation is strongest, well, those are visible for a month. Makeup is my friend. Is it worth it? Well....if you are sick of being patchy red all the time, then yes, absolutely. But this is not for the faint of heart. 3 treatments with a week working from home after each one. After the first one, when I saw what I looked like (and it was horrible, I joked with my husband that I looked like I was repeatedly attacked with a pencil), I did my treatments on Friday, so I would have a week and 2 weekends before returning to work. No joke, it was that bad. If you can do this, I would wholeheartedly recommend VBeam to anyone with persistent redness.
Doctor Khanna told me that my redness would diminish 70%. He was being conservative. What I see is a 90% reduction after 3 treatments. It is spectacular. I still have the brown of the bruising after the last treatment, it was 3 weeks ago, but I know what to expect. These bruises look like old acne discolourations. They will disappear in a week or 2. After that, I will not need any foundation, no makeup, nothing. My face will be as perfect as it can be for a 50 yo woman who uses good skin care.
So finally, is this worth it? YES, definitely. What is 3 weeks of not leaving the house, when I can now be proud of my skin. Even my husband, who was horrified the first time, now says that it was worth it. After all, he had to look at me after the treatment. I rarely approached a mirror, except to attempt to cover the bruises that for the first week are impossible to cover.
Wonderful.
P.S. no photos, i have some residual vanity after all.
