Ten Month Update
WORTH IT$7,755
As you can see, I'm pretty happy with my new nose. There are still some breathing issues (runny/stuffy) but after seeing Dr Motykie for my follow up appointment a few weeks ago, he agrees that I need to go back in for a touch up...no charge of course. My nostrils are still very uneven and since most of the swelling and numbness is gone, we now know this won't change so, that will have to be corrected as well.
All in all, I'm still very happy with the overall look of my nose and would have the surgery all over again. So happy that grafts and an open procedure wasn't required since that was my main priority. I will update again after the one year mark or after the next repair.

Your nose look nice. Maybe breathing issues are due to seasonal allergies not the surgery? What kind of touchup are you going to have?

Thank you Lavana but my breathing is not allergies. Ever since the surgery, my breathing has been worse and has not improved in ten months. Touch up would be to even out my one notril and columella to make them symmetrical...with breathing issue fixed (I hope). The doc said he would fix it no charge.

I wouldn't go back under, your nose is fine now. There is really no such thing as a "touch up" with rhinoplasty. It's a full revision every time.

Thank you jonway but I'm not happy with the asymmetry of my nostrils and columella. It's off balance and if the doc can fix no charge, it's worth trying. When I paid that much money, I would like to be happy with the outcome. The surgery would be pulling my left nostril in a touch, nothing deep inside like before so not a full revision. The doc said it would only take 15 minutes to fix;) He also said he could do in office with freezing only but if I want breathing fixed, I'd need to be put under...I'm still deciding.

Did he explain what exactly he is going to do with your nostrils and columella? My nostrils and columella are very uneven and my surgeon Grigoryants says he will not do anything as I may end up with even more assymetry. He says it is very hard to correct so I am curious what your surgeon says.

I am still waiting for Dr Motykie to send me his report of what he will do to repair. It'll be two months at the beginning of June since I saw him and I'm still waiting. I have sent reminders to his assistant and she says she'll get back but hasn't yet. From what he said at my last visit, it would be quick and freezing would be used. I'll post once I hear back.

Six Month Update
Still a little swollen on my left side, hoping it subsides soon as it makes my nose look uneven from the front. Other than that, I'm loving my new nose!!!! I'm in love with my profile!!! Dr Motykie is amazing!!

Almost at the Three Month Mark
So very happy with the way my nose is taking shape. The swelling is going down and my nostrils are finally starting to even out.
Still numbness but now feeling is coming back too...I can almost smile normally, lol.
The only issue I have now is it continues to be quite stuffy and runny. I take an allergy med during the day and Benedryl at night but only if I really need to...don’t want to become addicted.
Love my profile and now that front is evening out, I’m loving it too. I think my tip is dropping too but at a VERY slow rate.
Thank you Dr Motykie.

Thank you so much 963tal, I did my best to remain positive although there were some really rough patches in the beginning. I'm very happy with my decision to go with Motykie:)

Beautiful! Do you know how he fixed your columella? Tongue in groove?
August 27, 2018
Thank you Lavana:) I really don't know how he fixed my columella but everything was done using my own tissue during a "closed" procedure and without the use of grafts.
August 27, 2018
That’s sooo cool!! He made kt look natural with tissue ur so lucky:)))) on what areas did he use it on and is it life lasting? Im so interested in that technique :0
August 27, 2018
Yes, he used my own nasal tissue, just some rearranging, lol. I asked for and received the complete surgery report to know exactly what was done in case I needed to see another surgeon down the road. I know I won't have to though, unless it's for something completely different. The report is much too complicated for me to understand and yes, my tissue will be good for a lifetime. You can always email the doctor's office and inquire about his technique. He also has a slew of information about revision rhinoplasty on his web site.

Thank you soooo much. I salute you for surviving so long with a nose your were unhappy with. Mine is like 60% chopped off and i am so depressed because i will meed alot of building :(
August 28, 2018
people often complain that their upper lip is longer after the columella is brought up. Did you notice any increase in nose to lip distance or it is the same as before the surgery?

I’m going to go ahead with it as soon as the time is right:)
