Dr. Gelfant did my breast augmentation 12 years...

Dr. Gelfant did my breast augmentation 12 years ago, his staff and the environment they create is one where you feel like a part of a family as soon as you walk through their doors. The procedure that Dr. Gelfant used to do my augmentation was one that I do not think enough women know about or are told about when visiting other Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Gelfant uses a technique where he goes through the arm pit for breast augmentation and the healing process was remarkable along with the scar that is hidden in the creases of your natural lines of your arm pit.
I never knew how important this was in the process of really mentally accepting that I had my breasts done. There was no visible scaring and every time I have looked in the mirror for the last 12 years I have only felt as though they have been there my whole life and that they we not "done" but a part of me.
I recently chose to increase my breast size after 12 years and not because of anything wrong with my implants just personal preference, I called Dr. Gelfants office from Kelowna and with in one week I had my pre op in Vancouver on a Monday and my procedure on the next day and all the staff was again absolutely amazing! They take any anxiety or worry away and make you feel like you are with family. I was back to normal day to day routine just 2 days after (minus heavy lifting lol) and I could not be happier!
I will always be greatful Dr. Gelfant for your amazing work, and your care for your patients and I will always come back to your office, your procedure and experience as well as compassion is priceless.
You are the best! ;)

Congratulations on your breast implant revision! That's great you were able to go back to your doctor from your original BA 12 years ago. Just curious, how many cc's did you get this time and did you chose saline or silicone? Did your doctor go through the same incision? Glad your recovery went well. Thank you for sharing your story with us on RealSelf!

Hi BethH, I chose Saline again because I really had no issues at all for the last 12 years with the ones I had. I was 475cc's and went up 125cc's to 600cc's, they are full and really fit my body and proportioned so well. Dr. Gelfant did go through the same incision which is fully healed already and I had them done on July 8th. I am so happy and feel as though they have never been touched, it feels so natural and they look amazing! ;) Katie

Yea, I agree that if the saline treated you well the first 12 years, why mess with something new. Do recall if your recovery was easier this time compared to your original BA? Also, did you ever find your original implants slipping sideways toward your armpits when you layed down? I've heard from other women that this can happen over time. Just curious what your experience has been?

Thanks again for answering all my questions. I just know the community will find your details very helpful!

Hi BethH I am so happy if someone can use my comments helpful when making their decision on where to go and what they choose to do. My recovery was easier the second time, I went from a full A cup to a full C so a big difference the initial time around. That being said the first time was not that bad, my recovery time was quick and my incision healed with out any issues at all. As for them falling to the side, after 12 almost 13 years yes they did fall to the side a bit but this was only when I layed on my back when I was up they were just fine. I have to say one more time I have had no issues at all with my implants and have had the best experience 1st and second time around both with the procedure and the staff. I am fortunate that after all these years I was able to go back to where I trusted and had no issues with my implants. I hope this helps and please feel free to ask me any more questions that could assist. Dr. Gelfant really has helped me with my confidence and I am truly greatful for his work.
