Well, BBL ladies, after lurking the site forever,...

Well, BBL ladies, after lurking the site forever, I feel like I'm cheating by not posting back. I am 41 yrs old (older than a lot of you so this feel a lil creepy), mother of three (20, 15, 8). Very cute if I may say so myself but BOXXY AS HELL! Never had a butt, always teased in fun by my friends and family. I never really had a complex because I thought cute would be enough. Now I just wanna look like I want to in clothes and give myself the body I deserve since I am always taking care of the kids and husband. (Oh did I forget him earlier in the description? OOOPS!) I'll try to be short. Im 190 lbs. 5'6, (measurements are approx. not good at this) 43", 38", 41". CAN YOU SAY BOXXXY?.

I've researched of course the heavy hitters starting with Jimerson, who quoted approx. $15K for BBL and TT, Salama who quoted $8,499. just BBL (doesn't perform both procedures together anymore) and Yily who quoted $3800 for BBL & TT but it would come out to be more as I would add more areas of lipo, I think this only include two.

So Salama is out b/c I don't wanna go through this twice and my main goal has always been the tummy tuck (BBL is a +, albiet much need + LOL), Jimerson is hella expensive which I would consider but I have to wait until Jan 30th for a telephone consult, so imagine how long I would have to wait for the Op date. And I am awaiting a call back from Massiel (Dr. Yily's asst) tomorrow with a date. So with price and timeframe being the mitigating factors, so far it seems Yily is leading. I am still very apprehensive about going out of the country. So thanks to you all, I am learning a lot and feeling more at ease if that is the choice. Any opinions are welcome.

After careful consideration, I will post some before pics (OMG! YA'LL BETTA NOT LAUGH). Or on second thought maybe I'll post some b4 pics when I have afters to follow up and then I can take the laughs. Sooooooo HELP? Has anyone gone to DR alone, how did you manage?

So as promised Massiel (Dr. Yily's assistant)...

So as promised Massiel (Dr. Yily's assistant) called me this evening and I have a date scheduled for WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 2012. I decided on this day after speaking to a few co-workers who informed it is always cheaper to fly during the week. They advised stay away from Jan bc New Year's celebrations are huge in DR for almost the whole month and February is bad bc of some type of carnival. March not so great either due to the huge Easter celebrations. Flights can be over $700 during these times and on average $450-$500 off peak.

So included in the quote is: AREAS OF LIPO, underarms, flanks, full abdomen, and full back
BBL and TT including muscles sutured.
BASE PRICE: $3800 (Sounds great right?)- Then average in the following:
RECOVERY HOUSE 13 DAYS (one day at surgery location 14 total): Approx. $1,170 (@ $90. daily)
TEN MASSAGES: $310. (@ $31. each)
AIRFARE: $600 (Approximation)
TOTAL: $5601. Still Sounds OK. ADD ADDITIONAL CASH FOR INCIDENTIALS about $1000. I would say.

My reservations: Overseas surgery although Massiel speaks English Dr. Yily doesn't, I am very nervous about the language barrier although I am told she has her assistant and interpreters available. ????

The average time for the surgery is 3 to 4 hours.

I am still researching, considering Dr. Campos (Mexico) and Dr. Perry (Florida)

Tonight after work has been dedicated to MORE...

Tonight after work has been dedicated to MORE research. I contact via email, Dr. Robles (DR), DR. Campos (MX), Dr. Perry (FL), and Dr. A. Hernandez-Pizzaglio (DR).

Dr. Robles' assistant Laura Castro contacted me quickly by email and via text. I filled out a questionaire and submitted pics. Awaiting a reply.

Dr. Perry contact me very quickly as well, he quoted $7600 for:
BBL & TT including:
Lipo of Abs, back, flanks, inner thighs (didn't think I needed this, but Dr.'s orders LOL) and Knees (I have never heard of Knee lipo :O ).
Injection to sides for hips and posterier for projection.

This consult seems right on target to what I am looking to achieve (don't know about thighs and knees) but will see.
So of course this doesn't include logding and airfare. I researched airfare from NJ to Mia FL and found a flight for under $200 round trip. So with logding included this may put me just under $9,000 for US surgery. I may be sold.

Still researching though and still awaiting input from my BBL ladies..... WHAT YA'LL THINK?

Hi BBL Ladies, Dr. Alejandro Henrandez Pizzaglio...

Hi BBL Ladies,
Dr. Alejandro Henrandez Pizzaglio sent me a quote today which was very quick bc I submitted my photos and email last night. The quote is $5500 based on weight 150-200 lbs.
INCLUDES: TT, BBL, full back lipo
COVERS: Medical fees, Clinic fees, labs, cardiologist, anesthesia, 1 PO garment, 1 night stay at the clinic and follow up appointments.
ADDITIONAL EXPENSIVES: 13 days at recovery house $85. A day = $ 1,105
5 Massages @ $30 each = 150
Driver (transportation) = 130
Mandatory surgery insurance = 175
TOTAL = 7,060
He also charges $500 for each additional lipo area and $500 to FG to buttock $1000. His prices are very expensive for Dominica Republic. What I didn’t like is his email was very generic word doc which starts with “HI” no other greeting, seems very impersonal to me. It seems his prices are just a base and doesn’t fluctuate with what each patient needs, I don’t even feel like my pictures were viewed. The doc also stated “these prices are valid for three months” (red flag for me).

BBL Ladies we have to be mindful as this procedure becomes more and more popular, some doctors will try to capitalize on it, by doing like Dr. Pizzaglio and raise prices monthly or every three months. I’m not sure if the mandatory surgery insurance is a good precaution just to have or if that should raise another red flag that he has made mistakes and needed to redo surgeries.

He has no ratings on RS only on MMH. My RS ladies be on it with the research and comparison and if he wasn’t rated here, I should have never researched him to begin with. Thanks again ladies.

Well ladies, DR. A H P is OOOOOUUUUUUUTTTTTTT! (his name is too damn long anyway)

Also, ladies I have learned if I have a long post, type it in word and copy, this is my second time typing this bc as I came to the end of the first draft something happened and it erased. I feel this info was worth sharing so of course, I retyped it….won’t happen again though.

Still continuing my research. Dr. Yily's...

Still continuing my research. Dr. Yily's assistance Massiel is very attentive and responsive, I just wish I could speak with the Dr. (language barrier), I'm still liking the info, quote and results here on RS. Dr. Perry (Florida) gave me a really great quote as well, as far as US surgeons are concerned. His work is really nice too. Here's where I'm caught between now....Dr. Perry's quote ($7600) doesn't include airfare and lodging and his assistant (forgot her name) suggests bringing someone to care for you for up to three days at minimum. I would of course have to pay the airfare for my companion and inconvenience someone by obligating them to accompany me. I know I have friends that would, but when I'm ready I just wanna go w/o hesitation. So I think I am back #Team Yily due to the assistance of the recovery houses. Yily's quote doesn't include the stay at the recovery house, massages, and medication. but when compared to other DR surgeons who gives inclusive prices, it averages to about the same. Example Dr. Luis Suarez quoted $6727. including 8 days in recovery house, transportation, testing etc. (flight not included) and Yily's come to about $6500 w/o flight (Keep in mind my quotes include TT).
Didn't know who else to talk too so, I chose you guys. Maybe I should just relax be confident with my choice to use Yily and just go with that. And it is still so far away and I am in panic mode already. Hope you guys can deal with me come March...

Thanks sisters

I'm getting so frustrated. I am now researching...

I'm getting so frustrated. I am now researching airline ticket prices and as suggested by Laury130 I am looking into busines class and first class for the return flight from Dominica Republic (both seem to cost the same). This allows more reclining and seating space where passangers can lay and not risk the results of the BBL on the 4+ hour flight. My return flight will be near May 1 and searching so far away the price is still based at about $600. Remember this is one way from Newark, NJ or NYC not to mention the one way flight there which seems to be averaging about $225. so that's $800+ in airfare. Darn IT $$$$$$.

Ok so I really thought Dr. Yily (Dominica...

Ok so I really thought Dr. Yily (Dominica Republic) had my vote although it has been neck in neck race with Dr. Perry (Florida), until my telephone consult with Dr. Perry tonight. He is amazing, patient, answered as many questions as I had, allowed me to email wish pics to determine if the results could be obtained, he emailed me hotel info (all while on the telephone). He is so professional and knowledgeable, but still down to earth and funny and most of all we can communicate in English. Remember I was feeling a bit apprehensive about Dr. Yily’s inability to communicate in English. Although Dr. Perry cost more of course being in the US, I have decided to go with Dr. Perry. I will send my deposit this week and I will keep the April 17th date I had planned with Yily. This gives me enough time to get up more cash and research hotels. The only drawback is Florida don’t have recovery houses like in DR, which means someone has to accompany me to care for me for at least three to five days. I’ll have to figure out who, but I’ll make it happen (time for butt kissing, LOL). I am happy now, that part is over, I have finally decided on a surgeon. Now BBL ladies who are #Team Perry, send me some lodging and rental car ideas and rates. Thanks Ladies.

After deciding on Dr. Perry and continued research...

After deciding on Dr. Perry and continued research regarding pre-op/ post-op care, materials to purchase, airline, and hotel info. I am syked and serious. I purchased Nicorette gum today as a part of my smoking cesstation program. I will begin tomorrow. I want to be smoke free for at least 4 months, I don't want any complications or slow healing due to cigarettes. So BBL ladies as a part of my post op readiness I will start my first day of being smoke free tomorrow. I am happy about this, in the past the only thing that ever stopped me from smoking was becoming pregnant and breast feeding. Now I have a new reason to stop smoking (and babies aren't in the picture). I am excited about the money I will be saving kicking this stinking habit. To be honest, I have never tried a smoking cesstation program. I just figured I would stop "someday" well tomorrow is the "day". I will keep ya'll posted. The only downside is my husband also smokes cigarettes and I explained to him today that I am quiting and will need his support (keeping cigarettes, ashtrays out of the house) he is onboard so here is another part of my pre-op journey.

DAY 4~ cigarette free. The temptation is the worse...

DAY 4~ cigarette free. The temptation is the worse. It's hard but bearable. Mind over matter. I keep thinking of the purpose and my WHY? is more important than a cigarette. I don't want to sacrafice my healing and don't want ugly scarring. April is not so far away yet it seems a lifetime away. I need to stop stressin'. Classes start back next week so I won't be on the board as often, and I will have something to occupy my mind. Right now I'm taking care of money matter getting my funds together for the surgery. I am excited and can't stop talking or thinking about it.

I can't wait until the day I don't even think about a cigarette. It's coming, I can feel it.

Hey Ladies, I am an official stalker, I love...

Hey Ladies,
I am an official stalker, I love this blog and all you ladies for your input and candid responses. I am still doing well with the cigarettes don't even crave it during the day, the evenings are a little tougher but I'm managing. I can't stop thinking of the results I'm looking for and my purpose so this makes it easier to stay away from cigarettes. School starts back tomorrow and I know I will have to delve into that, so I will probably not be posting frequently, but will continue to post and read yours. I am transitioning career fields and completing my second master's degree. Lots of money so I have to stay focused. My goal is to beat my GPA from previous masters which is a 3.8 so I have a challenge ahead. Matter of fact, I should be reading right now. So ladies TTYS

Hey Sistahs,

Any Northern New Jersy gals who found a good place to continue with your lymphatic massages once you returned home post Op. As so many have discussed these massages are intregal to optimal healing and results, I am very concerned about finding someone near home to continue my massages. Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

Again Love Yall

So my caretaker tells me today that she can't stay all the days with me in Florida WTF. So I'm thinking of going to Yily again, at least I can have the ladies at the recovery house to help care for me. This is the pittttttts. I gave my deposit. Do ya'll think I can get a refund?? So now, i'm looking for ladies around April 10th to buddy up with for #team Yily???

Here is a link to the Make Me Heal site (IDK if you have to be a member to access it) but there is good info on post op recovery from BBL. Take a look good info....!!!!

This process is definitely a journey. So for all...

This process is definitely a journey. So for all those who have been following, originally I was going to Dr. Perry (Miami Fl.), I would still love to go with him, he's a gem. My caretaker backed out on me and with that went my lodging. Yily has always been in my sights, but I was a bit apprehensive, after hooooouuuuuurrrrsssss of research I am comfortable with my decision going with the "Queen of Sculpting". My date is confirmed and my deposit paid. So now I am continuing my supply list and in search of a buddy. I guess I can relax a little now. This has been stressful. Thanks for all your comments and support. I have a wealth of knowledge from constant research so if there are any questions please feel free to shoot them. (Still unable to change my location, IDK why) but it should read Dominican Republic.

I called Dr. Yily's office today and was able to speak with Yira (her English speaking assistant) I wrapped up last questions, flight info, JS info. Now I'm all set!! Ready to get going. Ladies reaching Yily is quite frustrating, but I'm diligent so I kept calling and emailing. The best time to call Yira (according to her) in late afternoon 3ish because at that time, she is done with patients and the office is winding down from the busy hours. So try calling at that time (809) 331 5050 ext 208

The following are a part of the med list that Dr. Yily sent me along with the following dosages. Does anyone know if these are before surgery?

-VITAMIN C 500 MG: Take 1 tablet every 12 hours for a month.

-FERROUS SULFATE: Take 1 tablet every 12 hours for 30 days.

-FOLIC ACID 10 MG: Take 2 tablets per day for 15 days.

Three Weeks Before Surgery Stop smoking! In some...

Three Weeks Before Surgery
Stop smoking! In some cases, we may ask you to stop sooner. Smoking can interfere with healing by constricting and decreasing blood flow all over the body which may prevent the wound from healing properly. Do not resume smoking after surgery until you are given permission by Dr. Lopes.
IMPORTANT: Smoking causes severe complications!
Stop drinking!
There should be no alcohol consumption for a minimum of 2-3 weeks prior to your procedure. Alcohol causes increased bleeding, increases the chances of infection, depresses immune functions and may interfere with wound healing.
Make a list of all medications! (Over-the-counter and prescribed)
• Your patient counselor must have a complete list of all medications that you take, either over-the- counter (including supplements and vitamins) or prescribed, before your upcoming procedure.
• Many medications interfere with the clotting process of blood and it is crucial that we know everything that you are currently taking or may take in the near future.
• You will be instructed by your patient counselor to temporarily discontinue certain medications in the weeks ahead.
Check your refrigerator!
It is important that you maintain a healthy diet including many fruits and vegetables. However, there are certain foods which naturally contain salicylates, which affect the blood, and should be kept to a minimum for two weeks before and two weeks after surgery. Cutting down on these foods will help reduce bruising after surgery. Now is the time to clean out your refrigerator and adjust your shopping lists for the weeks ahead.
Foods containing salicylates that should be kept to a minimum for two weeks before and two weeks after surgery:
Almonds Cherries Grapefruit Limes Peaches Raisins
Apricots Cucumber Grapes Nectarines Plums Tomatoes
Berries (all) Currants Lemons Oranges Prunes Vinegar

Two Weeks Before Surgery
Stop 2 weeks BEFORE until 2 weeks AFTER surgery:
• All Aspirin and Ibuprofen products including the drugs listed on the enclosed insert.
• All anti-inflammatory drugs used for arthritis. (Please consult your physician prior to discontinuing).
• All anti-coagulants
• Vitamin E taken internally
• If a medication is in question, call our office nurse.
START 2 weeks BEFORE until 2 weeks AFTER surgery (Strongly Recommended)
• Take a Multivitamin tablet daily. Most multivitamins contain some form of vitamin E, however this is acceptable to take prior to surgery. We do ask that you refrain from taking additional vitamin E.
• Take Vitamin A - 8,000-10,000 units, twice a day. This has well-documented beneficial effects on surgical healing and will also fuel your immune system.
• Take Vitamin C - 1,000 mg., twice a day. This is essential for collagen synthesis, which is part of normal wound healing. Your need for Vitamin C will increase after surgery.
• Take Bromelain - 1,000 mg., twice a day. (Pineapple enzyme - from a health food store) This helps to relieve the swelling associated with surgery.

For Liposuction patients only:
• Begin taking Slow Fe (non-prescription iron supplement) once daily.
One Week Before Surgery
BEGIN A LOW SODIUM DIET: (1 week BEFORE until 2 weeks AFTER procedure):
Limit sodium intake to 1200-1500 mg. daily. Limiting sodium will help you have less swelling and discomfort and allow you to heal faster after surgery.
GET PROPER NUTRITION AND REST: (1 week BEFORE until 2 weeks AFTER procedure):
• Avoid white carbohydrates such as bread, bagels, rice, potatoes, pasta and sweets.
• Eat healthy, regular meals.
• Eat 2 fruits and 3 green vegetables daily.
• Eat a small amount of protein at each meal.
IMPORTANT! Your diet can aid healing remarkably and reduce swelling and pain!
BUY SURGICAL GARMENT (if instructed to do so by your PS):
• You will be instructed by your patient counselor where to purchase the garment.
• Your garment may need to be altered to fit and you must have it for the day of surgery.
• You may have your hair colored, permed, etc. during the week before surgery.
• Remember that longer hair may be useful in covering the surgical sites during early healing.
3 Days Before Surgery
• Wash the operative area with your normal soap or cleanser once daily for three days prior to surgery.
FOR FACIAL SURGERY: Be sure to wash thoroughly behind the ears for three days.
FOR BREAST SURGERY: Do not shave under arms for 3 days prior to surgery as it may increase your chance of infection.
2 Days Before Surgery
• Take every 8 hours as directed and continue for 10 days.
• Continue taking Bromelain as directed every 12 hours between meals. This anti-inflammatory promotes healing. As an alternative, eat fresh pineapple.
The Night Before Surgery
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! If you are having I.V. Sedation or General Anesthesia:
NOTHING to eat or drink after 12 Midnight the night prior to your procedure.
SAFETY ALERT: Failure to comply increases anesthesia risk and may cause cancellation of your surgery!

• Wash and condition your hair as usual the night before surgery.
• Do not use mousse, gel, or hair spray.

Make arrangements prior to the day of surgery for someone else to drive you home and stay with you for at least 24 hours after surgery!!
The Day of Surgery
• You may brush your teeth and rinse with mouthwash. Do not swallow any liquids.
• Do not use breath mints or chewing gum.
• Do not apply makeup, deodorant, lotions, fingernail polish, hairpins or moisturizer.
• Do not wear jewelry or valuables.
• Do not wear contacts. Bring a case for glasses.
• Wear loose-fitting clothing: a button up front shirt, elastic waist pants and slip-on shoes. No jeans or jumpsuits.
• Bring a scarf and dark glasses (to be worn afterwards) for appropriate procedures.
• Bring surgical garment (to be worn after surgery) if instructed to do so by your doctor.
• You will need a ride to and from the office for the procedure (no Taxi).

After Surgery
You will be given specific postoperative instructions for your procedure which will outline in detail what you should do for the next 24 hours and for the upcoming weeks.

WHEN YOU GET HOME: (General Instructions)
• Someone must be with you for 24 hours.
• Do not get up without assistance. Stay quiet and do little talking, movement, and lifting
as excessive activity may cause bleeding to occur.
• Pain medication can be taken soon after leaving the office if needed.
• If you experience nausea, use the anti-nausea medication.
• Sip liquids slowly, increase gradually. By evening you may have a light, soft meal.
• Do not drink any alcoholic beverages (beer and wine included) for 48 hours. They do not mix well with anesthesia and may make you very sick.
• Do not smoke.
• Do not drive or do anything that requires your coordination for 48 hours. Medication
and/or anesthesia agents may interfere with good judgment.

I’ve been MIA, still on but not posting much...

I’ve been MIA, still on but not posting much didn’t want to confuse you while I was going through my confusion. Well, I gave Yily a deposit, then the anxiety started. I kept searching and lurking, seeing results. She delivers what she promises. Yily has never promised a semi-Jimerson ass. When I started my SX journey, I was only getting a BBL so the butt was and still is my focus. I would like a small contoured waist, but I know if I don’t have enough ass I’m not going to be happy with my results. I saw Dr. Agustina Hilaro Duran’s results and was like “WHOA she is the one.” She works well with full figures and has given up to 1400cc per cheek. I’m looking for 800-900cc. She said she will give me fullness, what my body can safely hold. So Duran is my choice!! FINAL CHOICE I should add. When I was going with Dr. Perry, I was not considering the tummy tuck. I’ve never been crazy about the resulting scar. Yily first suggested a tummy tuck. I continued looking at the results and figured since I am doing this I may as well go all the way. So I’ve added a tummy tuck to my BBL along with lipo of the arms and thighs, fat transfer to the hips too. Ok, so I’ve been raving about this to my girlfriends and now I have a group surgery/vacation. Accompanying me is my bestie who isn’t getting anything done, she is going for support. Our high school girlfriend, her friend and neighbor are going, everyone is having something different done. (I sold my deposit for Yily to one of them) That’s 5 so far. Then thanks to RS I met a sweetie pie who is also from NJ. She was braving the journey alone which was my original plan. So now she’s going with us. $75. For double room occupancy at RH and $50 for my non-SX friend for 12 days = $5100. We found a 3 bedroom condo 6 miles from CIPLA for a little under $1000 for 12 days. Taxi to and from the hospital averages about $30. The host we are renting from will provide us with someone to cook if we want this service for $35 daily. A nurse and masseuse will COME TO US (trying to get a group rate). With all said and done we are paying about $210 each for the condo for 12 days and with other services (nurse, masseuse, food shopping and taxi) on average $400-500 and that’s on the high end. So that’s a whooooping $500-$600 savings EACH over the recovery house. Needless to say we are all happy!! So all items are purchased and now it is just the waiting game!! Probably won’t posting again until I am in DR. TTYL!!

Hi ladies, I am still in DR 8 days post op. I am...

Hi ladies, I am still in DR 8 days post op. I am leaving on Monday 4/22. I had as planned TT, BBL, lipo of flanks, arms and upper thighs. I wanted to get BL but was unable to. Dr. Duran said that the anesthesologist would not allow me to stay under any longer due to phlem from past smoking. She said she would evaluate me to determine if I could have them done before my departure and extend my stay. Monday I took blood and was told I am anemic so I won't be getting breast done. I will pbly get them done in US around November. So far, I am satisfied. So much swelling. And ladies, soooooo much pain. Every day it gets easier though. Be sure to get your massages, they are certainly key and wear your garment. Ok here is my take on the garment. The doctors go extra aggressive looking for immediate results. I think they go a lil toooooo aggressive. I think the extra tight faja contributed in my leg swelling and the medium arms led to arm swelling. I will post later, still tired, recovery is very draining. Thank all of you for your prayers.

Duran Doll 4/10/13 Going for BL and Round II

Excited my date is March 12, 2014!!!!
Dominican Republic Plastic Surgeon

She is warm, professional and timely. She does not give unrealistic promises and once you send your pics, she will tell you exactly what she feel is best for your body and what she can safely provide. She is also great with the waist (like Yily) but not afraid to give lots of projection and volume. So she is my final choice
