Lost just over half a cup size!

Just back on with an update, so you can see that weight loss after surgery will impact the size of your new boobs! I’ve lost around a stone and a half over the last few months and my cup size has shrunk. I’m not exactly a C cup...but definitely smaller than a D which is what I wanted originally. Not sure if it is noticeable in photos but here they are anyway. Scars still fading even more.

Hope everyone is well end enjoying our amazing summer!

One YEAR update!

Hello!
Goodness it’s been a long time since I was last here. To be honest - once you have had surgery and are recovered, you don’t really think about your boobs anymore, and as I (unbeknown to me) didn’t have notifications set on my account I had no idea what was going on here in the world of RealSelf. So, if you have chanced upon my musings once again, and especially if you have commented on my blog in the past or if you have sent me a wee message and I have not replied - please accept my apologies.
It’s human nature when you are contemplating to surgery to have it on your mind 24/7, to eat breath and sleep boobs.. but when it’s all over, it’s amazing how quickly life gets back to normal and you forget you ever had two huge lumps on your front literally dragging you down.
Imagine also my absolute delight and surprise to find my story featured as the top story of three from 2017 on the RealSelf blog!
I encourage any lady thinking of having this major life changing surgery to stop being scared and go ahead. Do your homework very carefully, research surgeons and look at pictures of the work they have done. I picked my amazing surgeon after seeing his work on Real Self.
Despite my fears, my boobs have not grown back , lol and I am SO happy with my results.
My one top tip (apart from traveling over the world if you have to to get to Ben Chew!) would be to buy a massager (or rounded tip vibrator! ) and start massaging as soon as those bandages come off.
It’s been a blast sharing my journey with all of you and thank you so much for your lovely comments and compliments.
Here are some pics one year on.

Six months on

Hello everyone
Just an update at six months. My boobs have definitely ‘dropped and draped’ and settled into a shape I am really happy with. My scars are flat and white and almost invisible. I think it depends on your skin - but I have religiously massaged my scars at least ten mins each side every day with a mini massager. I have stopped using silicone tape due to the costs, and the fact that I don’t think I need to use it anymore - however, I do think using silicone tape contributed to my good result and would recommend it for the first few months.
Hope everyone is well and sending best wishes from an autumnal Scotland!

Provider Review

Specialist Registered Plastic Surgeon
Glasgow Nuffield Hospital, 25 Beaconsfield Rd., Glasgow,
Overall rating

I didn't want to go overboard with my review, as it always sounds so gushy - but I genuinely can't help it. From the moment I met Mr. Ben Chew I knew would have absolutely no qualms about putting myself in his hands. He is everything you would want in a surgeon, someone you can completely trust. He is calming, professional, knowledgeable and personable - a thoroughly nice man. Although he also works in the NHS as surgeon, he specialises in and mainly practices breast surgery with his private clients and so he has lots of experience in this area. He also teaches in his field and has won various awards. He is known for his reconstructive work. His before and after pictures show him to be a perfectionist and an artist...he has a wonderful aesthetic eye for the correct volume, shape and form and his careful stitching is beyond superb! I feel very fortunate that one of the top breast surgeons in the country was accessible to me and I was able to have him perform my procedure. I measured a 32 H/J. I'm now only twelve days post op, and at the age of 50+ I am a 32 D, and have better breasts than I did when I was 17. I am MORE than thrilled. The sutures are healed and genuinely hardly visible, and I have a beautiful, rounded teardrop shape. If you are in Scotland - or even if you are not - I recommend you go out of your way to consult with Ben Chew. He is simply, the Best.
