I cannot begin to say how happy I am with the treatment from Mr Ben Chew. I went to see him after many years of deliberating over whether to have breast augmentation and also after multiple consultations and a lot of research. My final deciding factor to have surgery was I was really unhappy with my breasts post breastfeeding (was slightly unhappy pre baby but much more unhappy with them post baby). I went to see numerous surgeons both in Edinburgh and also London and Cheshire. It was really important to me to pick the right surgeon. I have lots of medical colleagues including my husband and many people had recommended Mr Chew to me so I went to see him for a consultation. The consultation was very thorough and I liked that he showed me women with similar breasts to mine and the outcome of them. I also expressed that would would like another baby (not imminently but in the future) and explained that I would prefer to have the surgery before having our next child as otherwise I would be waiting some time before I could do this and had been unhappy with them for some time. Ben took the time to examine me and explain how breast changes are normally the same after each pregnancy and as I was not having an uplift if we were only considering one more child it shouldn't make much difference (although with any surgery nothing is guaranteed). After going away to think about things I decided to go ahead. I was very nervous the surgery date but the team were just incredible, I had Dr Rona as an anaesthetist and she made me feel so at ease (given the general was the thing I was probably most nervous about as I had no doubt in Mr Chew's ability). I woke up from surgery feeling like I had a nice sleep (albeit very swollen! I was not in any pain and had no nausea). I was up and walking around the ward very shortly after surgery, the staff on the unit I cannot praise enough, every single staff member made a real effort and made my recovery so easy, all were caring and attentive at the Nuffield. I returned home the following day as I lived in Edinburgh, if it wasn't for the travel I would have likely gone home the same day. I had a lot of swelling for 2 weeks but given I had good pain relief I cannot say I was in much pain, I managed 3 days post op and hour and a half of walking with little discomfort. Stopped the strong painkillers day 3 and was just on paracetamol. I was quite swollen for a few weeks post op but managed to go on holiday approximately 2 weeks after (with a toddler in tow) and was able to enjoy everything I normally would have done. I was doing very light exercise on the peloton 3 weeks later and felt fine, didn't do weight lifting. 3 months later now and I am over the moon with my results, I feel like this is the natural shape my breasts are meant to be. My clothes fit so much better and aside from tight tops and my bras all my dresses still fit me (just better than before as the breast area isn't loose). I am back to full weight lifting and aside from mild tightness when lifting overhead I really wouldn't know I had surgery. I found Mr Chew to be exceptionally detail orientated, very caring (he came in on a Saturday when he wasn't working to check in on me), and I am over the moon with my results. The results have given me so much confidence and my recovery was so much better than I had imagined. Thank you to the wonderful team at the Nuffield and to Mr Chew (who I will highly recommend to anyone considering surgery).
My experience with Ben was perfect. He is brilliant at understanding your requests, as well as offering his professional input. It is evident that he prides himself in his work and I couldn’t be more pleased with my results. Strongly recommend!
I had three consultations with other surgeons however the consultations just felt rushed and I sat on the fence. My friend was operated on by Dr Chew and was delighted by her outcome, so I decided to book a consultation with Dr Chew. My consultation was thorough and I felt comfortable with Dr Chew. My surgical outcome has been nothing short of incredible!! Dr Chew was so kind and patient with me throughout the whole process. I can not thank Dr Chew enough and can not recommend Dr Chew enough.
I have loved the work of Mr Ben Chew and the results are fabulous and only highly recommend him. He is professional, hard working and very thorough from consultation to post op check! I loved it..
After many decades thinking about having this procedure. Having 3 children & breastfeeding, I felt really insecure. I finally called to have a consultation with Ben. I had to wait 5 months for a consultation but it was worth the wait. I felt at ease the minute we met. No question was left unanswered. My procedure went ahead a few weeks later at Ross Hall Hospital. All staff there were amazing too. After care was great. It’s six months post op now & I’m very happy with my new look. Very natural looking. I’m so much more confident & was happy to wear a bikini on holiday this year for the first time in a very long while. I always felt embarrassed previously. I would highly recommend Ben. Many years of experience, highly skilled & a true gentleman. THANK YOU BEN K CHEW!
I cannot recommend Dr Ben Chew enough. From start to finish he talked me through the procedure and helped me to get the look I really wanted. Leading up to the surgery he was always there to contact and was very supportive. My surgery was so smooth and the healing process was so fast. I love the end result and just wished i had done it sooner, the overall experience was so easy and life changing!
Around 7 years ago, after changing from the contraceptive pill to the implant, I lost all fullness of my breast and went from a full 30DD to a 30B. This massively effected my confidence, and I had been on and off researching breast augmentation since. I don’t know anyone personality who has had the surgery, so I was reliant on online forums such as RealSelf and MYA. The MYA forms really made me see the importance of choosing your surgeon, and not just the company. Many of the girls are given any random surgeon at the closest available date, and it seemed that the surgeons left all the options to the patients, such as size, texture, profile, shape etc. It seemed a bit overwhelming and really pushed me to take more time to find a recommended surgeon. I had my consultation with Dr Ben Chew last December, and I immediately knew I made the right choice. He made both me and my partner feel extremely comfortable and he is truly such a pleasant and likeable person. Instead of leaving the many options up to me, he told me exactly what type of implant he will be using, the texture and profile - and he confidently explained exactly why he makes these choices, and his knowledge is phenomenal. He does everything to the highest standard to get not only the best results, but to ensure the safest outcome, too. He really listened to every concern and what I wanted, and together we chose the correct size. It was very reassuring that he limited my options as he confidently knew what was right for me. I was beyond anxious on the day of my surgery, but both Ben Chew and the anaesthetist made me feel so comfortable. Whilst getting me prepped for surgery, everybody made me feel so at ease and they were all so friendly. They laughed and joked with me as they administered the anaesthetic and I didn’t even get drowsy - I just went into the best sleep of my life! All the staff ensured I was comfortable waking up, efforts were made to ensure I did not get nauseous or sore, and they made sure they had my glasses right beside me when I woke up which was a relief, too! I was so well looked after and I can’t believe I am saying this - but I genuinely enjoyed the surgery day and would happily do it all again! I am now over 10 weeks post op, and I have never been so happy with my body. I NEVER would have expected my results to be as perfect as they are. My new boobs sit perfectly, they are the exact size I hoped for and my scars are completely hidden, so neat and very very small. The healing process was so easy. Unlike many other surgeons, Ben does not rely on extreme compression bras or bands for his results, and you can sleep laying flat from the next day. I started side sleeping just days after my surgery! It really was a perfect recovery. I am now pretty settled, and currently measuring a 30G / 32F. I’ve attached some pictures from before the op, during the recovery process and now, essentially fully settled. I saw a lot of changes in the first 6 weeks whilst they went though the ‘drop and fluff’ process, and I’m glad I knew to expect changes as they do take a while to get into position. Unfortunately this website won’t accept most of my pictures due to the file size being too large, but I’ve posted as many as I can to try and help anyone researching see some of the process. I cannot thank Ben Chew enough, and I would recommend him to ANYONE considering surgery. His skills and dedication to giving the best results have absolutely changed my life.
Ben came highly recommended to me by 2 friends who had undergone breast augmentation by him. I booked my consultation with him and the fact that he had a long wait time was comforting as he is so highly thought of and in demand. I really did my research and thought it would be sensible to visit a couple of surgeons but none gave me the peace of mind that Dr Chew did. As soon as I met him I felt so at ease. He is a wonderful man, so gently spoken and really listened to everything I said, he really goes above and beyond to deliver his patients vision but really keeps your health at the forefront. I lost 18kg in weight a couple of years ago and have adopted a very healthy lifestyle, I love weight training and hiking. I am finally at a place where I felt body confident but unfortunately I lost a lot of fullness to my bust. I didn’t feel sexy or feminine so thought long and hard and decided breast augmentation would be a great move for me. I had asymmetry in my breasts so we decided on a 275cc and 325cc to balance me. Mentor high profile implants. I am now 12 weeks post op and I really could not be happier with my results. My breasts are now full, shapely but still fit my frame. I feel so confident in and out of clothing. My surgery at Ross hall hospital in Glasgow was a breeze. Ben and the team at Ross hall really looked after me, I felt so at ease the entire time. My recovery was far easier than I expected. I went under the muscle for a more natural look and so was expecting to have a painful few weeks recovery. The first week I breezed through on rest and paracetamol. Ben was contactable at anytime during my recovery period and always replied so promptly. I cannot recommend him enough, he is worth his weight in gold.
I had a consultation with Mr Ben Chew for an issue that bothered me for about 20 years and was embarrassed to talk about - my asymmetrical breasts . I immediately felt at ease with Ben he is very professional and takes time to explain surgery and how he would make me feel more comfortable about my breasts. He discussed the operation which was breast reduction in detail and answered any questions I had. I left feeling reassured and fully informed. I went for operation in Jan 2023 I could not be any happier with the results. Everyone said how good a surgeon Ben is and they are correct. All the staff that work with Ben were amazing calming my nerves. Ben kept me informed at all times. The results are amazing I can’t thank Ben enough for my new improved breasts he really has given me a lot more confidence. Stitches have healed well very minimal scarring, recovery and pain was not as bad as I thought. After 6 weeks I would say I felt back to myself. Hope this is helpful to other people thinking about surgery with Mr Ben Chew.
From the minute I met Ben I instantly knew he would be the surgeon to carry out the procedure… finally after years of consultations. That’s me 4/5 post op and I am delighted with my results. Scarring is minimal, they look exactly how I asked. Thank you Ben for giving me a complete confidence boost, my only regret is I didn’t do it sooner.
When breast implants are placed under the muscle, they will usually look flat, have little cleavage and a high riding position. The appearance will typically improve greatly by about 6-weeks post-op as the muscles and soft tissues stretch and relax. The implants will then have a rounder shape with better cleavage and have dropped to a more natural position. These changes will not noticeably begin until about 2-weeks after surgery. Most patients begin to see good improvement from about 4-weeks onwards. At this stage, the most important thing is that you are healing and recovering well from surgery. Wishing you happy healing and a great result in the weeks ahead.
