Tummy Tuck W/ Oppenheimer

I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for Dr. Oppenheimer and his team. It has taken a full 10 months to really sink into my brain that this is now my new body. I think it really hit me when during my summer beach trips. Being able to step onto the beach in a BIKINI for the FIRST TIME EVER felt absolutely incredible! Chin up and full confidence- such a wonderful gift.
I used to lay down on the side of my stomach and see it sag, it would make me very sad. Now, when I lie on my side and see the stomach I deserve I feel so much happiness.
What I am most in awe with is MY NEW BELLY BUTTON!! It is so perfect and one of Dr. Oppenheimer’s signature details.
If I could give a word of warning about the recovery period. PLEASE.TAKE.CARE.OF.YOUR.DIET! The CONSTIPATION that I went through, I would wish on no one. Part of the reason why I think I experienced such terrible constipation was due to my diet, post-op. I went from eating nothing for a very long time to then eating foods containing gluten and starch. If I could go back I would introduce small amounts of foods slowly into my system. I would also choose to eat foods that would aid digestion and help me go number 2, such as apples, kiwi, spinach, sweet potato, beans, etc. I did drink plenty of water, but dropped the ball with my diet. Other than that, the recovery period as pretty smooth.
I would also encourage you to take pictures, the post op mind plays a lot of tricks on you. Lots of before pictures will make you very appreciative of how far your body has come. The swelling period is also pretty harsh, pack your patience pants! Slowly but surely the swelling will be gone.
Lastly, keep funny people away from you! Laughing will hurt for quite some time.
Thank you to Dr. Oppenheimer and his team for making my experience so pleasant and this dream come true.
