Disappointing Experience
My first consultation was great, Dr Tiryaki was friendly and welcoming and I was 100% convinced that he completely understood what I wanted and I had every confidence he could achieve the results I was hoping for. He explained that a mini tummy tuck would get me 85% of the results of a full tummy tuck, I showed him a picture of myself before my second pregnancy and he said he could get me close to this and I would be really happy with the outcome.
Surgery day was excellent, the care in the clinic was brilliant, I couldn’t fault it at all, I was so impressed with everything and was glad when the whole ordeal was over and was looking forward to my recovery. The next day I arrived at the clinic to have my drains removed and from here it went downhill, I had a lengthy wait and was rushed into a room to have them removed then rushed back out and sent on my way. At my 6 week follow up consultation I raised concerns about the swelling and strange shape of my tummy, I was told all was fine but I’d put on some weight so I needed to lose a few pounds. I went away and lost the weight as requested. My next appointment was at 6 months after surgery, again I raised the concerns about the strange shape of my tummy and the amount of loose skin remaining, Dr Tiryaki told me that he understood my concerns and I could have a full tummy tuck after a year at additional cost to get a better result.I saw him again by virtual consultation at 10 months after surgery and was really disappointed with his response. He was extremely dismissive and made me feel like I had unrealistic expectations. I showed the same photo of myself that I showed at my initial consultation and he said that I won’t be able to look like that again as I’m ageing (the photo was only 2.5 years ago). He said that this is now the end, he’s done all he can and made it very clear that he doesn’t want to see me again. I have seen other surgeons who have advised that the muscle repair was not repaired high up enough which has created the barrel shape of my abdomen and there is a lot of loose skin remaining. There is a hard bump above my scar where it is anchored, which Dr Tiryaki told me was fat. Disappointingly I’ve been told that I’m now not going to be able to revise this with someone else as I’ve learned that my belly button was detached and reattached from my abdominal wall and there is risk of it not picking up a new blood supply if a full tummy tuck is carried out. He didn’t even offer to repair the dog ears on my scar ends. I feel like my body looks worse than it did before let alone anywhere near my goal picture, and I wish I could go back to my before surgery pictures. The inconsistent advice between each appointment was particularly frustrating and left me confused as to what would be needed to address my concerns. Sadly based on my experience I would not recommend.
