Hi everyone, I wanted to let you all know about my consult with Dr. Siamak Agha MD, a plastic surgeon in Newport beach. Friday afternoon, I got myself all dolled up and ready for my appointment with reasonable expectations. Doing careful research I finally decided to book a consultation a week prior and felt even better as the receptionist said “ can I be honest with you, I think he is amazing he does amazing work” At that, I was sold. I had also researched that he did not have a BMI requirement. I told her I was interested in a Plus size tummy tuck. I was not asked any questions about BMI, the types of fat I have, or anything like that. I paid the 350.00 consultation fee knowing this was my doctor. Damn was I mistaken. First of all, I was forced to wait 20 minutes sitting in a room, partially exposed because they did not have plus-sized gowns. Waiting and waiting finally the doctor comes in with what I assume to be a handler( the attractive receptionist to be there in case I flipped or something I suppose) and says how can I help you???? I let him know as I did when I filled out my intake that clearly stated my height and weight, so prior to this visit he knew what my height and weight was. Dr S. proceeds to tell me I am too large for the procedure to have a good result, he repeatedly asks me about weight loss surgery (3x). I told him I had already done this and my thyroid did not let me lose weight. Then he said to come in for large volume lipo. I can remove 5 litters, “let's start with your back”?? Umm who the hell said I didn't like my back roll?? I did not. Eventually, he can see I am extremely unhappy and continues to talk to me about blood clots and risks, again I do my research I have had 3 prior successful surgeries, and I would never put myself at risk if I was unhealthy. I exercise, I eat healthily, I don't have high blood pressure, diabetes, none of that?? But I am a poor candidate because?? No this was literally the worse experience of my entire life. I swear to christ there was a moment that he actually looked at my body in disgust…like damn honey you have no right being here. No genuine big girl love. So first let me tell you I have had to other consultations on the west coast with Dr. Sean Younai, from Encino who is also board-certified. Dr. Younai was so kind to me, told me I was a good candidate, and told me all about the black girl magic he could do for me. He knew exactly what I needed and how to get me there, the only reason I am not going with Dr.Younai is because of the drainless technique, I also had a consult with Dr. Nachbar, of Arizona who was also kind and genuine, respected my BMI and gave me options, another board-certified surgeon who does offer the drainless procedure, I am planning to book with him. The point of this long review is that big girls need love and respect. We don't need to be treated like we are stupid, I hold a master's degree in clinical psychology, the last thing I consider myself to be is stupid. Plus size has a subjective meaning, please know that. Be careful, do your research, and don't let anyone make you feel less than. You are beautiful and good enough, never settle for less. I will demanding my money back for false advertising , as I have no intention of ever stepping foot back in his office. Stay blessed.
