TLDR go somewhere else if you want a decent surgeon who will admit their mistakes. Also, if you’re 39, you’re apparently too old for decent results??

Honestly, I’m sad I have to write this. I’ve been following Doctor Marion since 2016 and was certain I was in the best hands for my mommy makeover, but he has since proven that this was the biggest mistake of my life, 34k dollars later. Not only has he gaslit me by blaming my age—gaslighting confirmed by two other reputable surgeons—but it will cost upwards of an additional 17k on top of my 34k to revise his mistakes, which he takes no accountability for.
I had my surgery in April 2024. At my 4 week appointment, I pointed out some wrinkling on my lower belly to the nurse. She said it would go away. Fast forward some months later and I pushed to have Doctor Marion look at it because it got worse. He said that everyone’s skin stretches out—at 4 weeks-6 months?!—and I’d have to get a tummy tuck every 6 months if I wanted it to stay wrinkle free. The thing is that it’s not the rolls that everyone has when you bend over. It’s a huge amount of excess skin—the type that you get a tummy tuck for in the first place. I also pointed out the double bubble in my breasts, where you can see a separation from the breast and implant, and reminded him that HE mentioned I might need a fat transfer at my consult. He said they looked fine and that I didn’t need a fat transfer. I also showed him the severe animation deformity on my right breast. He said QUOTE, ‘I could go in and look to see if there’s anything more I can do but I doubt it..because I’m pretty good at what I do’
When I told one of the other surgeons that I consulted what he had said, she and her two staff members laughed in disbelief. She said that I definitely needed a fat transfer in my breasts and that he didn’t pull the lateral skin tight enough on my belly, causing it all to sag forward when I bent over or sat down. After that other consult, I begged Dr. Marion to look at my skin again, and told him what the other doctor had said. He didn’t seem to understand or was purposely ignoring what she suggested and said he wasn’t able to pull the middle skin tighter. I clarified that I didn’t want that tighter, that it was the lateral skin sagging into the middle that was causing my issues. He said the other surgeon was wrong and gaslit me again, saying it was my age. My skin has looked like this since I lost 60 lbs at age 30. I do not have wrinkly skin AT ALL, except for where I originally lost a ton of fat. I don’t cry for much, but I left the office in tears, completely gutted and feeling hopeless that I just spent a TON of money and went through SO much pain and recovery for nothing, because he just moved my loose skin to a new spot.
Fast forward to today, when I got a third opinion from another reputable surgeon. His conclusion was the same as the other surgeons. He said that he thinks Dr. Marion is a good surgeon but he’s focused on having small scars, when that’s not always the best case. He said I needed an extended tummy tuck based on all my loose skin from losing weight, because the other doctor was right—it is my lateral loose skin that is caving in and creating a wrinkled mess in the front. He also pointed out that I should’ve had a scar revision on my breast lift—doctor Marion removed my tape early and I had an opening that healed poorly—I definitely needed a fat transfer based on my breast shape, pointed out that my areola was brought too low into my lift scar, and said that my implants should’ve been wider to prevent such a large cleavage gap. These are all things that should have been done in the first place, but even so, all I’ve wanted was for Doctor Marion to admit that I need a revision, but he preferred to pretend like everything was just fine because I look okay when I’m standing still. For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to him. We’re talking about tens of thousands of dollars and intense recovery and planning.
