I had a mommy makeover surgery performed in July of 2021. I live in Southern California, but I opted to have the surgery performed in Utah because it’s less expensive and my in-laws live there so I would have help with my 3 kids during recovery. The surgery went well. I was very happy with the way my breast implants and tummy tuck turned out. I followed all of the after care instructions and after a few weeks convalescing at my in-laws, I had to return to California. I kept up with the clinic through video call and a few days after my return, I noticed my the bottom of my right breast’s stitches was starting to weep and open up. I called the clinic and they told me how to treat it. As a result of the stitches opening, that scar healed very badly and now I have a huge bump under that breast. This July, I returned for my after surgery photos. I consulted with one of the medical assistants about the scar and said it was something that Dr. Marion would absolutely want to fix. But, he is completely booked until September 2023 and that she would put me on the waiting list for an appointment in July 2023, which is the next time I would be in Utah long enough for a surgical procedure. I understand that because I’m coming from out of state and have a limited time window for getting a procedure done that I don’t expect to not have to wait for an appointment. However, the fact that they are so far booked out that even if I did live in state I would have to wait until September for an appointment is frustrating. I have a huge scar that I’m very unhappy with and I can’t get it fixed until 2 years later and even then, I’m still only on a waiting list for an appointment. If you decide to get a mommy makeover with Dr. Marion, be aware that you will likely spend years waiting for an available appointment for after care surgery.
I had an extended abdominoplasty, liposuction of the flanks, and a breast reduction & mastopexy. I am only 9 days out from my surgery and I am absolutely shocked - in a good way - at my results. I'm 41 and have had 4 c-sections and developed that fun shelf of skin and fat over my c-section scar that would never go away and not really even shrink as weight fluctuated, plus lax muscles and an extended pregnant-looking belly that never got better despite years of pilates. I have always had large breasts that had good volume but sagged and got in the way of physical activity. My entire torso looks better than it ever has, like, better than it did in college. I am healing great and have had no complications from the surgery. I am really pleased with the shape and how proportional he made everything. I like Dr. Marion's entire staff, very professional and warm, and I am someone who was somewhat uncomfortable about this whole thing but they made me feel great. He is a superb surgeon absolutely expert at what he does, and frankly I think the price given the number of hours the surgery took was quite reasonable. I have zero regrets - only that I wish I had done this sooner.
I had met and researched a lot of Plastic Surgeons from Real Self in my area, and what initially sold me on Dr Marion is he doesn't do drains on his tummy tucks! When I met with him, I felt like he was very thorough in his answers. I never felt like he was trying to sell me into anything. He just wanted to help me get what I want and let me know what to expect. I was also impressed with his pricing. I got a tummy tuck with breast fat transfer (with fat from the stomach area). It has been a year and the results are amazing! I did not have to stay overnight at the surgical center. He called me that night to make sure I was doing well- he was on call if you needed him. While I got the powerful pain meds, I didn't need to use them which is unheard of! I also had minimal bruising which I think is in part due to some of the naturopathic medicine they gave me ahead of time. I had no issues not having a drain! Perhaps there was more swelling because of it? I am not sure, but the recovery was better than I expected. It was still a month or so of walking around like a little old lady, but the results were worth it! I have great contouring, the scarring is minimal, and the fat transfer went well. The first round for the fat transfer gave me about a half cup which put me from an A to a bigger A cup and after 9 months from surgery a B cup. I did another fat transfer taking fat from my inner and outer thighs and arms to my breast. This round got me to a full B cup which is about where I wanted to be. My personal choice for going with a fat transfer is I wanted it to look, feel and be natural. I didn't want to have to worry about explants, rupture or breast implant illness. Since I researched a lot about Breast Fat Transfer, I knew what to expect and Dr Marion was also very good about having realistic expectations. You don't get the results of implants with upper pole roundness and 2 cup size increase. I did like the plus side of getting thinner arms, stomach and legs. I knew I was going to need two rounds to get me closer to the size I wanted. I am active and didn't want large breasts to get in the way of an active lifestyle. I didn't get any cysts or have any other issues with my breasts. The pain the second round with the liposuction was a little more- probably because of the kind of fat/areas he took from. I am 5'4" and 135 pounds- so I had the fat but not so much fat that it would likely retain after transfer. First round, about 50 percent of the fat stayed. Second round, about 70 percent of the fat stayed. Dr Marion and his staff were amazing the whole time. I had a personal unrelated health issue come up and they were so good helping me work through and find the best solution when they didn't have to. I honestly feel like Dr Marion and his staff genuinely care about you as a patient and will do what they can to help you get your best results. I highly recommend him!
Made the decision in March 2021 and booked a consultation for June, scheduled surgery for August! A bit of a wait but Dr Marion got really good reviews and I was impressed with his portfolio. I am so glad I went with him. He’s a perfectionist and did a great job. I’ve healed nicely and the scar is small and precise. I went with the biggest size he recommended for my body type, 480 cc. I was nervous, thought they might be too big, but I am not disappointed! So glad I didn’t go with the smaller size. As for the healing.. discomfort for the first few days, but very manageable. I just took things slow and kept on top of the pain meds. I’m 6 weeks post-op today and I feel great. They are a part of me now! Updated on 27 Sep 2021: I'm at 6 weeks post op, back to my normal routine. They have dropped and fluffed and I'm loving them! It's fun to shop again. I was B cup before, now DD. I'll post some recent photos soon. Posting some after pics, day 1 and day 3 and 1 week. Should've posted them sooner1 Updated on 29 Sep 2021: Sorry it’s taken so long to post my recent photos! It is 7 weeks today! I’m wearing normal bras and they are feeling great. The right one is dropping faster but they are pretty much in pace. They are getting squishier and I’m feeling more confident! I’ll post some swimsuit pics soon! Updated on 29 Sep 2021: I’m adding these photos with bras… 36 DD. I’m so happy with how they look in a bra and everything else! I’ll post updates in a few weeks. Hang tight! If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
Dr. Michael Marion and his staff at Marion Plastic Surgery and Med Spa are 100% top of their field. At 3 months post op for abdominoplasty and liposuction, I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Marion vehemently! My results are incredible and far beyond my expectations. He is the most professional physician I've ever seen. His approach and outcomes to surgery are without compare. Thank you Dr. Marion and staff from the bottom of my heart!
Dr. Marion came highly recommended, and he did not disappoint. His staff is very friendly and made me feel so comfortable. He does such a great job listening to what you want and giving his professional opinion. There was no pressure to do anything you weren’t comfortable with. He is an expert in his field and I have full trust in him. He and his staff were so willing to answer any and every question I had. I felt prepared with all the information I needed to go forward. I felt like they cared for me personally. I could not be happier with my results, it turned out better than my highest hopes!
Excellent staff and services! Super nice and attentive. Their office is super clean and you feel instantly comfortable. Savannah completed my treatment and she is the best! 10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting laser hair removal.
Dr. Marion and his staff are excellent at making me feel comfortable and well educated while there. I had an emsculpting session and was very pleased with the results. Dr. Marion is great at reading the patient and answering any questions.
Very helpful and informative during the whole process. Uses the best tools/methods so that you get the best possible results, all the while him and his team do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and confident about the process.
I have been so happy with my results and my experience with Dr. Marion and his staff. From the very beginning he has been so patient, kind and caring with me. He took the time to answer everyone of my questions (which my list was very long). After my consultation, whenever I had a question come up, his staff was very informative and encouraged me to call again if I had any more questions. I love that he does a drainless tummy tuck. After all my research, I believe my recovery from a drainless TT is so much easier then with drains. I am EXTREMELY impressed with all my incisions. He is a miracle worker in making them so straight and smooth. (Specially when you google other peoples incisions/scars) Everytime I look in the mirror I think "I can't believe this is my body!!!" I am so excited to see how I look 6 months post operation cause if I am loving my results at only 5 weeks P.O., I can only imagine how great I will look in 6 months. I would highly recommend Dr. Marion over and over.
Most board certified plastic surgeons are able to perform both procedures at the same time. Your consultation will allow the plastic surgeon to perform an exam and better understand the extent of your hernia and better plan your combined procedure. If he/she is uncomfortable with the hernia repair portion, it is not uncommon for a general surgeon colleague to repair the hernia and the plastic surgeon to perform the tummy tuck portion. All the best.
Congratulations on finding a surgeon who understood and was able to deliver on your goals for breast augmentation! You are right that the implants tend to settle into position after surgery which can takes from a few days to a few months. Once patients are happy with the position of the implants I recommend you wear a good supportive bra to "lock in" the position of the implants until healing has taken place. It is not a guarantee but it is really all that can be done to secure them where you want them. Some also suggest sleeping in a supportive bra and avoid sleeping on your stomach to prevent further movement. I would not worry about them looking "small" and bras are made today that you can really play them up if you would like. All the best.
Hi. It is usual for breast implants to "drop" or settle into their position over time. This does not always happen simultaneously, and usually one will soften and settle before the other. Continue to visit with your surgeon and allow him/her to follow your progress. Only after multiple months would there be a concern for the implant staying too high. There are also other reasons for implants to appear high on the chest wall and again those issues can be determined in the office on examination. All the best.
Every plastic surgeon will have different recommendations for medications to continue or stop around the time of surgery. The reason is to prevent something untoward from happening during or after surgery because of medications. You should definitely defer to your plastic surgeon for recommendations. Best of luck.
Your photo does not show any obvious abnormality to the breasts. The normal at 5 days post-op is to experience tight, swollen breasts with high riding implants. These should continue to improve daily and the implants settle to their final position over the coming months. Regarding the bruising and swelling to the hips, this should be examined by your plastic surgeon to make sure nothing abnormal is going on. Hopefully just some bruising, but an examination would help determine that. Good Luck.
