Trying Ultherapy
Tomorrow I'm going to have Ultherapy on my face and chin area. I have loose skin from aging, weight loss, and liposuction under my chin a few years ago. I wanted to speak with the PS to find out if a face/neck lift would be a better option but the med spa staff felt that Ultherapy will get me the results I'm looking for. I want to tighten and firm that area, minimize lines and wrinkles, and have a more defined jawline. They said it will take 6 months to see my final results, which kind of bummed me out cause I'd like to see the benefits sooner, but if it ends up looking great then that's all that matters! His staff told me a face/neck lift would run $22,000-$24,000. Another reviewer here said she got that done this last year for only like $12,000. So I was a little surprised at how much more I was quoted. Ultherapy is going to cost about $3,200, and apparently to see best results you want to keep up with it once every year. That will be a bit much over time, so unless I'm really wowed by the results I think I'll go for the face/neck lift next time. We'll see how it goes. I've been researching it and a lot of people say it's very painful, so I'm hoping it won't be as bad as they're saying. I'll update my review after the procedure tomorrow, then update with pics til the 6-month mark.

Ultherapy done. Now we wait...
I ended up doing my neck and entire face. I recorded a video after the procedure but for whatever reason realself won’t let me select it to upload it here so I’ll just kind of recap what I was saying there. They didn’t use a topical numbing agent like a lot of reviews I’ve seen. They used nitrous oxide. Basically I self administered it while she performed the ultherapy treatment. Honestly I don’t know how just a topical numbing agent would be much help. I will say the people who said that it was painful are correct. This was one of the most painful things I think I’ve ever put myself through. LOL At first I was trying to find a happy medium to sort of stay alert but hopefully numb myself enough not to really feel any pain. I don’t know much about nitrous oxide, but I don’t think it’s an anesthetic in any way. I think it just literally makes you float off and not realize what’s happening at the moment because everytime I started to come to the pain was pretty intense. There were a few times the gas made me laugh myself silly, which was a pleasant break from the pain, but if I didn’t just breathe that in pretty much constantly during the treatment I would feel that intense pain. It was like feeling your tissue suddenly cramp up plus like a hot iron feeling at the same time. Very intense cramp plus hot iron feeling every time.
Would I do it again? I don’t know! It all depends on the results really. It’ll take 3 to 6 months to see the results. The very first day, actually even yesterday, my face and neck were a little puffy, but now they both look like they did before I went in. She said this would happen. She said it will take at least three months to see the results. So I’m going to give it some time and hopefully I will see great results and it will all have been worth it. If it really does tighten the skin and help build collagen then I probably would give it a go again next year to maintain the results. The nitrous oxide did the trick so long as I made sure to use it consistently throughout the treatment. There were definitely moments where the pain was intense, but it didn’t last. No bruising or anything after. Just a little pain or tenderness to the touch since then. So yeah, if the results end up being really nice, I’ll probably the bite the bullet and do it again. LOL I’ll keep you all posted!

Some Bruising
Just noticed this bruising today under my chin. That area has been the most tender. She did warn there could be bruising.
