I have been wanting a rhinoplasty for a very long...
I have been wanting a rhinoplasty for a very long time, and after spending hours and hours doing research about it, I came across Dr. Golden's website. I had already gone to a bunch of consultations with other doctors, and I did not feel comfortable doing the surgery with any of them. Just by looking at the before and after pictures on Dr. Golden's website, I was amazed by the results.
I booked a consultation, and I knew right after that I wanted him to do my surgery. What I loved about him is he is super straightforward with what he can and cannot do. A lot of doctors are not completely truthful with their patients about what they can and cannot achieve through surgery and that gives the patient a sense of false hope. I loved that he was completely honest with me right from the start. He is also extremely funny so that's a plus :p
So after my consultation I booked my pre-op appointment and surgery date. I also had to put down an initial deposit to hold my surgery date. About a week before my surgery I had my pre-op appointment. I had my blood drawn and was given all prescriptions. I also paid all the remaining surgery fees then. I had already started taking iron pills and 1000 mg of Vitamin C 30 days before surgery. Three days before surgery, I started taking arnica Montana, applying nasal ointment that Dr. Golden prescribed, and taking acidophilus.
And finally, surgery day was here!!! I was super nervous in the morning, but I was just wanted to go in and get it done and over with. I was actually a little relieved that the surgery is performed under local anesthesia because general anesthesia definitely has more side effects on patients in general. I remember a few things during surgery, but you are pretty much too high to care about any of it. :p I even remember Dr. Golden saying something funny during surgery and I was smiling/laughing, but I could have totally been dreaming and made that up. :p I felt absolutely no pain during or after surgery.
Recovery was super smooth thankfully! I started taking my antibiotic the night of my surgery day, and continued to take other medications as instructed. I did not take any pain medication at all! Not even Tylenol! I did not feel any pain whatsoever, and people find it so hard to believe when I tell them that I felt no pain! I did swell up, but it all went down within a week. I also followed Dr. Golden's instructions very carefully in terms of what to do before and after surgery (and what to avoid doing). So I highly recommend that you do that, it will definitely pay off during recovery! Cast and stitches were removed 5 days after surgery, and again I felt no pain at all. I think it is worth mentioning that dr. Golden only does closed rhinoplasties, which is incredible because he is able to achieve the same results as the open approach, but without any visible scars! I also think this was the reason my recovery was pretty smooth, you will heal a lot faster with the closed approach!
I was a little nervous about the results at first because my nose was extremely swollen. But after about a week and a half I began to fall in love with my new nose! I see little changes in it everyday, and it keeps getting better and better as I continue to heal. I still cannot believe that I got this done the feeling is so surreal! Dr. Golden told me it will take a full year and maybe a little longer for the nose to completely heal and take its shape. If you are considering this procedure, it needs a lot of patience so be prepared!
So my final verdict on this: If you are considering this procedure and live in Michigan, GO TO DR. GOLDEN. Trust me, I have done all the research that could possibly be done about this procedure. He is the best at performing rhinoplasties (he has been performing them for 30 years!). He knows what he is doing, and he will be able to deliver the best results possible. He even does revisions FOR FREE if you need one, which is pretty freaking awesome! This has already changed my life completely, I am so much happier and more confident! Thank you Tammy, Moe, and Dr. Golden for making this procedure very smooth for me!

Dr. Golden specializes in facial plastic surgery and is a true artist. He has a very special talent in performing rhinoplasties in particular. I am blown away by my results and am loving my new nose!
