One week after surgery...

At a follow-up visit, dr. Verbin addressed all of my concerns. There was still a lot of swelling between my breasts in addition to the muscles contracting and keeping the implant from assuming their intended position-- all considered normal at this stage of healing. Additionally, I started with very little tissue under my nipple, and my breast needs time to stretch and adjust to the size of an implant. He was confident about the implant size looking good (all is expected to become better with the muscles relaxing more and tissues/skin stretching). He made recommendations for helping with the process (downward massage and continue wearing the bandeau). I have to admit... all looks better today.

47 Year Old Wanting Larger Breast (Wanting A to C) with Natrelle MF 375 - Torrance, CA

It has been only... 5 days... and I feel disappointed -- like my breasts are waaaaay smaller than the samples I wanted/selected (the samples of 350 over my breast looked nice-- looked at least a full C or C plus size and appropriate for my large sized chest/back; my the current look seems to me more of a small to average B size... my current look is that of the sample I showed my doctor of how I don't want them to look). My significant other who knew about surgery said I looked nice but should not worry about anybody noticing implants because there is not much difference. He said I look just like before when wearing a push up bra. He said it out of a good will. Today, a friend who was unaware of my surgery stopped by for a short lunch. I took my band off and wore a regular t-shirt dress. She did not appear to notice anything - has not given a look or made a comment to indicate any reaction. I am trying to remember what my doctor told me and wait until they settle a bit, but I am scared that they are exactly what I did not want; a small B that is too small for my large frame. On a positive side, there is some improvement in how my clothes drape on my breast now, especially if I try it on with a good bra; however, they do not look nice without a bra. Anyway, I will try to be patient and positive... and to relax more hoping they as the implants settle they will expand a bit more.

The doctor presented as a friendly, flexible, knowledgeable, and positive person who is well able to understand and address concerns about appearance and as it relates to general health. After I decided to get the implants, he gave me some implant like samples (combinations of samples) to take home to try. I am so glad he did, because I had a chance to feel the weight and imagine the volume as well as to try it with different clothes. I had my surgery yesterday. As far as the surgery, I had a very positive experience... and the best response ever to general anesthesia. After having multiple surgeries for various reasons, I have a history of taking anesthesia poorly with long recovery and severe prolonged nausea. This time I had none. No doubt my doctor and the anesthesiologist took my concerns into consideration when planning for my surgery. I woke up feeling alert with no nausea, headache, or other associated problems. It was really remarkable given consistently problematic past. I was given a strap to assist with the breast shaping. After the surgery, the drive home was a bit uncomfortable, but the pain tolerable. Today, my breast looks smaller than expected (more like a B), but the doctor explained that it is a common concern after this kind of surgery; reportedly, it is better to judge the results after the swelling goes down and implants settle. I will update you with pictures and info.
