I am finally making a post on this site. I have been lurking around for months and gathering information. I am exactly one month out and extremely nervous. I have to start my 3 week pre-of diet in 1 week. I'm just glad it's after Thanksgiving. I have booked my flight and I'm checking my pre-op checklist. I'm really excited, but really nervous at the same time. Anyone who can offer any tips about anything would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! I'm having my surgery on Dec 17 too! I'm having mine with Dr. Ary Zarate from Long Term VSG. Are you as excited/nervous as I am?! Good luck!

Passport
I'm going through the mail process of getting my passport card now. I know I should just get the passport but right now every penny counts, passport card is way cheaper. I'm so excited. I've made a list of things I need to buy from the grocery store for my pre-op liquid diet. I've noticed people on here have different lengths of pre-op diet. Some 2 weeks, or 1 week. Seems kinda insane to go 3 weeks on just liquid, but I will do whatever they say because I want this process to go as smooth as possible. Being on a liquid diet the entire month of December(with the pre-op and post-op)seems a little daunting, but I'll try to think of the end result. I'm excited to be starting a new chapter in my life. One where I don't have to be cognizant of where my behind goes, and how I can make myself small in the space I'm given. I'm looking forward to the future.

Pre-Op diet Day 1
I am struggling, a lot. My liquid diet has been all liquid so far today but maybe not exactly the liquids they advised. I went out to eat with my family, because they are still in town after thanksgiving, and I did well. I brought one of my shakes with me and drank that while they ate. The waitress kind of looked at me funny. Guess I'll have to get used to that. I did have some vodka which kinda of distracted me. Shhhh don't tell anyone. I am slowly coming to the realization that I won't be able to eat like Im used to. I'll get through this. Hopefully.
