I was grateful to have found Dr Azar through my daughter-in-law, who worked in an Orthopedist Dr. in Westlake. They highly recommended Dr Azar. Because i had interesting turns in my reconstruction with the implant rupture,...i have had to have 3 surgeries. I trust Dr Azar completely...and he will always be my Plastic Surgeon. He is kind and thoughtful...and has your best interest at heart. He guides me all the way to the best outcome for me. I have had some challenges in my Breast Cancer journey. He has even made a call at my home to ask me how i am doing, as well as to discuss my concerns,...he is so sincere about his patients, and their comfort. No wonder he was voted TOP Plastic Surgeon in Ventura County. I welcome a Doctor with a soft presence, and a great listener. His skill is amazing. The office staff are equally kind and concerned, and knowledgeable. I rarely have to wait for my appointment. I feel like they also care about me and my health and make suggestions that are so helpful. I highly recommend Dr Kouros Azar, MD. Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing your opinion about your doctor.
I would love to add your experience to the Breast Reconstruction community, but it would be helpful if you could provide some more detail about your experience with your procedure/treatment. I suggest adding before and after photos - optional of course, so that other community members can use your review as a guide throughout their journey.

Hello Dawn...i am so sorry not to be able to provide pictures...i would sooo do that,..but when i had the rupture...i was frantic. I had two major parties that i was in charge of each completely...and i was feeling such sadness at this happening when i knew i would be up and in front of more than a hundred people at each of the events. I didn't know what i was going to do ,..had to change my choice in clothing and everything ! You can imagine for a woman...that, that, in itself would be challenging ! ha So...Dr. Azar has the photo's,..but i did not want even one ,..of the memory. I cannot take a picture now because i am in the healing stages of the 3rd surgery since April. It would not be a great thing to share at this time. I have had 6 surgeries all together. My first 3 were at the City of Hope with Dr Tan as my PS. Could you give me some more thoughts about giving more information and detail about my experience ? It is a pretty scary story. I am a unique patient...with issues of my ribcage not being symmetrical on the right side which was such a challenge for Dr Azar to help my image to have a 'balance.' I would love to know what other detail could help promote my surgeon, other than pictures because i am still in the recover mode of open scars and it is not in it's healed stage, as of yet. Would you want the detail of each of the three past surgeries and how much information ? Thank you so much. *jeanie

Hi Jeanie, thank you for your response. I completely understand about the photos, no worries! After all your reconstruction work, I can imagine your sadness when your implant ruptured...along with the panic you felt knowing you had two major parties to attend. Did you end up getting an insert for your bra or prosthesis of some type?

Has the recovery been slightly easier with your recent surgery compared to those in the past? In hindsight, do you have any helpful recovery tips or suggestions for other women facing reconstruction?

I'm happy you've felt confident and comfortable with your doctor throughout your journey. It sounds like he's been there for you during this challenging time. Please keep us posted as you continue to heal!
