I went yesterday for a consultation to see if kybella was right for me. Since I'm severely impatient, I decided, "sure! I'll get it done today." Granted, I didn't do too much research on healing time. The nurse said the swelling will go down in 24-48 hours.
She administered the shots and I can honestly say, they were not painful. Towards the end though, I felt a burning sensation that I had to tell her to stop for a few seconds. Then she continued and I was in mild discomfort for a few minutes. They provided me With ice packs and I didn't feel pain afterwards. I was a little swollen after leaving the Drs office but I didn't think it was noticeable, I went to work right after!
I'm reading more reviews on here and there seems to be a miscommunication between the patient and administrators of kybella. It's been 24 hours and I'm still swollen... More so than yesterday. I look like a frog. I'm actual headed out of town today with my boyfriend and I didn't plan on telling him about my treatment. I hope he doesn't notice my chin fat has seemed to triple! I'll update with pictures in 3 days. I doubt the swelling will go down though from other reviews I've read :/
You can't tell from the front, but from the side it looks extremely bad.

I just came back from vacation and I am back to looking the same as I did prior to kybella. I'm hoping I lose my double chin though because otherwise I spent $600 for nothing :( ... One thing I noticed though is my chin from the front looks somewhat more defined, maybe I'm imagining it but the picture where I'm in orange is me two days ago where my I felt my double chin was invisible from the front. Definitely not from the side thoughZ before you could see my double chin from the front so maybe it is starting to work.

Did they not tell you that most patients will need more than one treatment?

I had it done almost 2 weeks ago and I am still swollen. I was told to expect the swelling for about 4 weeks and then it will continue to improve for some time after that. I was also told depending on your starting point, you may need more than one treatment.

I disagree, I see a distinct improvement. You look much better. I've heard that, it's common to require more than one treatment.

UPDATE 6 weeks

It's been over 6 weeks and I can say that it is not REALLY worth it. I had my follow up today and they showed me my initial profile and the photo they took of me today. I saw a SLIGHT difference, but i feel that I could have easily had those results if I stopped being lazy and lost 10 pounds. I had a tiny pudge under my chin that was maybe the size of a thumb and now its no longer there. I mean, it was only $600 (at least I didn't pay over 1K). The nurse suggested that I could get another dose if I wanted, but said I look fine the way I am now. I guess I'm not disappointed but i would have used that money on botox for the massateer instead.

hi beautiful lady, you still look great, but Im with you there that 600 bucks is not worth that slight difference. As you said, I think 10lbs off could have served you even better. I wanted to do this myself but Im glad I told the nurse I'll think about it cause she wanted to do it right there on consultation, again, saying doesnt swell much at all. I seen some reviews with lots of bruising too. To my opinion, its not worth another 600. I'll save my money maybe 2 grant or so for a tiny liposuction right there which is done under local and for sure all the fat will be gone cause that I know it works. This one is new so they're still figuring it out. A rule of thumb that i tent to fallow lately is: never try anything new on the market. (specially when its for cosmetics like this) cause there is not enough evidence to back it up, not enough reviews to see if it works or any long term effects. We have to give it a few years to see how good it is. As for lipo, we know it works and its been used for years. (if you go to a good doc of course). Best of luck to you hun, again, dont worry you still look great, just lost $600 :( sorry you didn't get the results you wanted.

Wearing a chin support garment, similar to a snooring garment helps tremendously with the swelling and discomfort.
