On January 5, 2015 I had my reconstruction surgery in which I was so excited and looking forward to it. Not knowing that the outcome was going to be bad. I am now having to learn to deal with dents on my breasts, nipples not being centered & size is way off. Totally disappointed have not seen Dr.Koch

Don't give up. You have to be your own advocate. You made it thru the fight of your life...the fight for your life. Don't let anyone tell you nothing in wrong when you know it is. Get a second opinion. Hang in there!

thank you . I plan to seek a second opinion eventually, right now I am trying to deal with side effects and issues of medications.
Thank you for words of encouragement.

Thank you for posting, it provides others the necessary information about a doctor and his procedures and manners. I know how difficult it is to go through a reconstruction and take off the bandages and be terribly disappointed. Waiting for the body to heal and getting your spirits up is tough after such a let down and dealing with a plastic surgeon who is not emphatic is equally disappointing.
My prayers go out to you.

What does your plastic surgeon say about the dents and nipples ?

I wouldn't know because I have not seen him after the surgery but once. When I complained about not being happy, they automatically scheduled me with another colleague whom is new to their practice. Till today I have not heard from Dr. Koch, which everyone I speak to find it so unethical and unprofessional.

Did you ever get an explanation as to what is going on and options to correct if you should choose ( with another surgeon I hope). I dont know if this is correct to say but I think insurance will cover as you have a right to a reconstruction to your satisfaction. I am sorry your doctor has treated you this way. I am starting to learn that sometimes who we meet at the consult is different when on this journey. Best to you. I know many women have had revisions and while no one wants to go through it, I am learning to accept that may be something I too will have to open my mind to as much as I wish not. Best to you.

After my surgery I only saw him once, then apparently he became very busy. All my other follow ups were with one of his colleagues, she is new to the practice. I did express to her that I was not happy at all with reconstruction, she did mentioned that she can fix it doing some minor surgery, BUT I have gone through enough, and still going through it. At this time I am going to just give it time and eventually seek a second opinion.
AS for the insurance, they were Non-participating providers, so I wrote a nice letter to insurance company and send funds back to them. They shouldn't get paid for this horrible work, unprofessionalism, and unethical practice.
