Just realised I never uploaded my "before"

So far so good!!

I'm now on the tail end of my third set of trays, and just two days out from my next appointment at The Ortho Practice to have one tooth filed, and a whole bunch of attachments positioned. So far I have experienced very little pain, and only discomfort for the first 24-48 hours of each set of trays. I have developed a nervous habit of flipping up my bottom tray with my thumb nail when I am stressed, or concentrating on something, but I'm trying to stop that. Other than that, the trays feel so normal now! I don't feel as though the trays are too high maintenance, either. So all in all, my day to day life hasn't changed too much. I'm not popping pain killers and brushing my teeth 6 times a day, as some reviews had me believing.
Now to the actual teeth... At my appointment picking up my first set of trays, the dental assistant told me to be patient, not to expect any noticeable movement for the first twelve weeks. So I left with the expectation that not much would happen, and I was happy to be patient. I'm glad I left under that guise, because it has made all of the movement all the more exciting! I cannot believe how my bite, the width of my smile, and most noticeable my overlapping has changed!! there are actual gaps in my bottom teeth! my bottom row actually sits UNDER, not INSIDE my top row, I AM STOKED. Only three trays in! It makes the dreaded attachments so much more exciting because I know thats when the real work begins!
All in all, I'm really happy I went ahead with Invisalign, and I cant wait to see more results!

My initial consultation was around 5 weeks ago....

My initial consultation was around 5 weeks ago. After a bit of research online, the ONLY practice in all of Sydney that I found with an all positive review was Dr. Theo Baisi at the Sydney branch of The Ortho Practice. The practice is small, but clean and bright. The staff are LOVELY and enthusiastic. My initial consultation was spent with a woman who I believe is a consultant from Invisalign, and not a direct employee of The Ortho Practice (TOP), she was very informative, answered every question, used visual guides and most importantly, was not even remotely sales based in her attitude at all, even when I suggested signing the contract that day, she encouraged me to think about it overnight before returning the next day for my follow up consultation. We discussed the issues that I have with my teeth (namely, a narrow, deep bite and some crowding) and she assured me that though it might be a long treatment (12-18 months) she was confident that we could achieve a pretty neat, straight result.

The next day I went back and had my images taken. It's a VERY odd sensation, you are laid back, a small machine blows a strong stream of air into your mouth, whilst some other contraption takes a 3D photograph of your entire smile, inside and out. As you're laying there, you can't really see what the assistant is doing (she was lovely too!), but you can look up to her computer and see the image coming together, it's all very interesting. After my image was taken, Dr Baisi came into the room to introduce himself and take a look at my images. Like the consultant the day before, he was pretty confident that I'd be happy with my results after the 12-18 month treatment period. He noted that he was concerned about my front teeth being slightly different sizes, but there's not much I can really do about that until the overlapping is straightened out. Dr. Baisi is really lighthearted and fun, seems to treat his staff really well (something that is very important to me!), also really seems to know what he is talking about. At the end of my second consult, I was sent down the road to a dental imaging and X-ray centre, with which they have a relationship (meaning I didn't have to worry about paying for x-rays, or lugging the images back to TOP!)

So thats it so far, until tomorrow morning!! I am very nervous about the headaches which I have heard about, but mostly I am just excited to finally be on my way to having a nice, wide, straight smile!!
