After reading several reviews, I booked my first...

After reading several reviews, I booked my first initial consultation around May with Dr Shahidi for the 1st of August 2017 (he is veryyyy booked out). I was lucky enough to get called earlier to go and see him sooner and my new consult date was the 18th of July.
Upon arrival I was greeted by the lovely Railegh, and then we waited for Dr Shahidi.
I was very excited to meet him, as I follow his profile on Instagram (the results speak for themselves) & he comes across as a very honest, down to earth man.
He began examining my nose, asking me what I did not like about it - I explained I did not like my hooked profile, the asymmetry front on & the bulbous tip.
We took some photos at different angles & he then internally examined my nose. He did say I had a slight deviated septum due to my nose being bent on the left side (this was something I never actually realised).
He then took a look at my photos on the computer. I was mortified when I saw my before photo (you never really think your nose is THAT bad) I opted for a straighter nose although I did tell him I did not mind a tinyyy dip in my profile. I did ask him about my front on appearance as I was quite concerned due to it being asymmetrical. He did say it would be extremely hard for him to show me what my front would look like, I definitely appreciated his honesty as I myself did try to edit front on images of myself on his app and I did find it quite hard. He was not at all worried about shaving down the hook of my nose, as he mentioned this would be quite easy - but he said my nose is quite tricky front on as he would need to add cartilage to the bent portion of my nose to ensure there is a foundation to prevent my nose collapsing in the future. He did say my nostrils were asymmetrical (again I never noticed) but he did say he would not be able to fix it, not that I was worried by that as I actually never noticed myself.
I was very appreciative of his honesty, he did mention to me that he does not say yes to performing rhinoplasty on patients unless he himself feels as though he can improve their nose. And that is the important thing to note - it is not about perfection but improvement.
I then booked my surgery date with Amy (she is so lovely) and the $1000 deposit was paid =)
Upon my second consultation, he was a lot more serious - we went through the pre-op/ post-op instructions and the nerves definitely started to kick in. I am a uni student so most of the time I was not thinking about my surgery, I was very pre-occupied with my uni work & this is definitely a good thing, there is nothing worse than over thinking.
I will add my before/ after photos as well as the photos that I sent to Dr Shahidi before my surgery. I will also do a seperate post about my actual surgery day and include photos of my swelling/ bruising =)
