I didn't notice my nose was different till year 5....

I didn't notice my nose was different till year 5. I moved to a private Christian school and got bullied relentlessly for three years due to it. I got yelled at by the most popular guy in the year in a bus to a camping trip to get a nose job, got told my nose looked like a swollen tomato in Maths class and have heard random remarks from strangers, often teenagers, in the street, like 'woah, I thought I had a big nose...' and 'holy nose...'
As such, I've contemplated a nose job since year 5. However, 10 years later, I am not making the decision because of those kids. But, I am making the decision for myself, for confidence, for courage and improving my life. But, I have only told three friends yet! Bit scary telling other people.
My surgery is booked for the 27th of November and my savings of two years has gone to it. I hope it will be worth it!

(Nearly) one week to go! AAAAH!

The day I've been waiting for almost 10 years is nearly here! My surgery is next Thursday and I am so exciteeed I cannot wait.
I had my pre-op last friday, and everything went well! Dr Nettle always seems so confident and assuring that I forget all the questions I'm meant to ask :/ But, I trust him -- I've seen his work and he has an art to make his work natural. The balance is ENTIRELY paid, woo-hoooo. I am refusing to look at my bank account (whatever little is left) but this will be very worth it.
I have told my immediate family and a couple of my work friends. A large part of my surgery is to fix my breathing so most people just assume it is for medical reasons. I have worried about there being gossip at work or around my friends circle about me getting a nose job but their short term reactions will not undermine my life-changing decision. I cannot wait to see my new nose, and feel more confident about myself.
I have gathered most of the post-op supplies I need. Still waiting on arnica tablets and I need to invest in a nice neck cushion, makeup remover pads to soak onto my eyes and pineapple juice.
My next post will probably be a day before surgery when I am freaaaking out or after it! :D AAH!!
I have been overwhelmed by the support on this site, thank you all of you for your kind comments :) I cannot wait to share my results with you.

I can't wait to see your results, you are going to look amazing! You shouldn't be too concerned about people talking about your nosejob - I was worried about what people would think at first but now I am so proud that I don't care who knows :P
Good luck!

Done!
I got to the hospital around 6:45 am and was prepared for surgery by around 8am. the anaesthetist was absolutely lovely and the nurses in the operating room were as well! It was funny because I could hear the nurses talking about Dr. Nettle among each other and saying he was a very picky doctor who took ages in the operating room. That just reminded me why I chose him. Dr. Nettle was accompanied by a UK plastic surgeon who was visiting Dr. Nettle and learning from him.
All I remember before slipping into sleep is the nurses and anaesthesist trying to fit my long hair into the surgical hat thing. I woke up around 12pm to some other nurse who told me I had been gone for a while. As soon as I woke up, my eyes were sticky and I needed to pee REALLY bad (like bladder going to explode bad). Dr. Nettle came to tell me the procedure went beautifully, however I couldn't see him very well haha. I told the new nurse I needed to use the restroom, so she gave me a tiny cup. As soon as I was done with that cup, I STILL was busting to pee and felt myself starting to sweat (sorry if this is TMI). I told the nurses I needed to go, and the nurse told the other nurse I just went and they didn't let me! I literally layed there for 20 minutes waiting to go to the recovery room cause they didn't have a bed available feeling like my bladder will pop. I don't care if I just went, if I need to go I need to go! GRR. I didn't like those nurses.
Once I was in the resting room, the nurse had been given strict guidelines to follow by Dr. Nettle. However, she only came once to put the cold compress on my eyes so I'm not sure if she followed it. I took some selfies off my iphone and my eyes first went to my nostrils. Holy pig! My doctor did say I will look a little 'piggish' at first but not to sweat so I'm trusting him. Also, my eyes were a bit swollen and have been watering since the procedure. I also have packing in my nose which was uncomfortable and sort of a burning sensation. There was not much pain, just pressure. I left the hospital around 4pm because my blood pressure was a bit low.
Sleeping at night was very difficult! I kept waking up throughout the night, and finally gave in to take one sleeping tablet which helped I think!
Day 1:
I woke up even more swollen. My right eye is a lot more swollen than the left. I've been taking all my medication -- which feels like I'm putting way too many things in my body!! (Arnica, Vitamin C, Zinc, Stool Softener, Painkiller, Anti-swelling medicine). My nose has a LOT of dried blood which I've been trying to clean but hasn't been doing much cause it is so dry! I've been using saline on a q tip. That is probably the most uncomfortable bit, because it does burn a little around my nostrils. I've been eating roasted pumpkin (made it really soft), drinking pineapple juice, eating yoghurt and dinner is pumpkin soup :) I'm still not used to my piggish nostrils atm but as I said I expected it as my Dr. warned me. I'll update soon again!
Thank you guys for your support. xx
