Day 26 - sorry for the late update!

Hi all, it is day 26 for me. It went by so fast yet so slow. Apologies for the late update. I got carried away returning back to work and kept losing track of my update. Everything seems to be on track in terms of healing except for my tip! My face swelling has come down a lot and people have told me that my face has lost weight ! However, my tip is still bulbous and the tip is projected. It is very stiff and feels tender and fragile. I can feel everything that touches it even if a tshirt grazes it when I put it over my head, I literally flinch! It isn't major pain but it is a zing of pain. It alerts me to be more careful.

I am douching when I can, I should do it more often but I forget to boil water in the evening for my morning douche and I am at work all day and by the time I'm home I cannot be bothered to boil water and wait however long for it to cool down. However, DO NOT DO THIS, my nose was very crusty and dry so I came home from work today and douched twice! I feel so much better. It was becoming very dry and itchy. Two stitches came out in the douche today so I guess the final stitches are making their way out, I cannot see anymore in there, unless they are way up there.

In terms of satisfaction with my nose, I am so happy I finally did it. My nose now, even though swollen still and not 100% just yet, is better than my old nose. It suits my face a lot more and all of my family and friends that know that I did it have said that I have not changed in a major way but that my new nose looks like a natural fit for my face. The biggest change is the side profile which people gasp at when I show them, it looks a lot better.

The only things on my mind now are the swollen tip and how it is making my nose look bulbous and like it is projecting further out than I would like. I am waiting for my 6 week post op check up with Dr S to chat about this. I believe I will start taping after this which I hope will help with this swollen tip issue. Other than that, everything else seems to be in order. I still use the scar ointment but it is close to finished so will see what Dr S prescribes next when I see him in 2 weeks.

Day 6.... Counting down

Day 6 has been a lot better, swelling has come down a lot and the bruising is 90% yellow. I had some energy this morning so was downstairs watching tv and had lunch with my fiancé. By the afternoon I'm a little worn out because of the struggle to breathe. Everything seems to be on track, following doctors orders with antibiotics and the cleaning spray etc. No need for pain killers since day 3. The only thing that is really annoying and that I'm trying to ignore is the packing in my nose. I can feel it in there! All jammed up and clogging my sinuses like crazy. My congested state is making my ears pop when I swallow and all I want to do is pop by ears and blow my nose haha but patience is a virtue! Only two days to go and I get this cast off and packing out!! Can't wait :) keen to see the result too. Hope these reviews help. Not sure what to include in here so just telling it like it is for me on my journey. Any questions let me know!

Day 4 and 5

Day 4 was similar to day 3 in terms of swelling and overall discomfort. I didn't take pain killers on day 4, just spent most of the day in bed and asleep. I didn't get good sleep lastnight as I kept reverting to old habits of trying to breathe through my nose and it kept waking me up because it's heavily blocked.
So far day 5 seems to be okay. Swelling has come down, still a bit swollen but not as bad as prior days. Bruising is coming down a lot and is mostly yellow. Staying in bed and trying to catch up on lost sleep. No pain killers today either.
