Subcision + PRP Injections: I highly recommend subcision with Dr. Byun.

My experience with Dr. Byun in repairing my acne scars has been spectacular so far. Dr. Byun really focuses on rebuilding my skin by stimulating collagen production. He educated me on his approach of rebuilding the skin which is very different than all the dermatologists/surgeons that I have consulted with. Dr. Byun has set me on a program which will take many months to improve my acne scars. Having patience is really important for optimal results, I see a big difference in my skin already and I’m not even half-way finished! Instead of starting me off with lasers or anything non-invasive to my skin (which many previous doctors suggested me to do), Dr. Byun wanted to work underneath my skin first. This is because you need a good foundation before starting with non-invasive procedures (depending on each patient). He had me complete six sessions of microneedling (performed by Nicole who did amazing). This improved my skin texture a lot. After these sessions I followed up with subcision + PRP injections. Subcision is basically cutting all the thick fibers that hold down each acne scar. Releasing these scars will only treat scars easier since it has loosened. It will help future treatments work more effectively. After subcision, Dr. Byun then injected my face with 4 vials of PRP to stimulate collagen and help with healing. It was the best decision I ever made and I would do this whole thing again if I was given the option to. I look more plump and my skin looks healthy. I have received more compliments on my skin lately because even the people I’m around started noticing a difference in my skin texture. I’m very proud to write this review because Dr. Byun saved my skin and really spent time in rebuilding it in the healthiest, safest, most effective way.

I will add, subcision went very smoothly. Be prepared for what the procedure is like.Yes, you will be very swollen for days and possibly bruised. I bruise VERY easily. You will need to request off from work. I highly recommend subcision with Dr. Byun he really knows what he is doing and he’s very confident about it.
