Done with accutane!
This is it! Yesterday I took my last pill of accutane! I am so excited to be done but also so scared to stop taking the pills. What if it comes back? According to my derm it was the right time to stop. Not because i reached the accumulative dose (not by far), but because I haven’t had a single pimple since March. I am so ready to have my normal eyes, lips and eyelashes back! I’ll keep you updated on how things are going from now on and how i deal with the leftover scars.
Month 7
So it seems i’m not quite done yet. Went do the derm yesterday and she said i have to do one month more on 10 mg to see if my skin stays calm. It was kind of A bummer, i was hoping to finally be done now! But well, four more weeks!
Start of month 6
I cannot believe i have been on this drug for five months already! I went to see my derm last week and she told me I needed to continue for at least one, maybe two months. Apparently you don’t have to take the cumulative dose anymore (?). She says when my skin has been clear for three months, then I can stop. I hope she is right! I have been clear for two months now, the scars are still there and still red, but that is another problem I will tackle later!
