I had my Deviated Septum repaired, Turbinate Reduction & Rhinoplasty.
My experience with Dr. Chaboki and his partner Janet was top notch. Janet is a legit superstar who will deal with all things insurance and cost for you and breaks it down in a bite-sized way to not make you feel stressed out (which is hard to do when you're getting a major surgery on your face!). She was amazing and I can not thank her enough!
Dr. Chaboki is also a rockstar. He answers any and all questions, is open to having you come back in for additional appointments if you're feeling nervous and is just generally really pleasant to be around! I was very amendment about not changing my entire face, I wanted to look like me but with just a little adjustment on my nose that has made me self conscious my entire life. He nailed it. I couldn't have asked for a better nose or experience. He listened to everything I said and took it seriously. I look better than ever and more importantly I FEEL better than ever!!
In terms of recovery:
Week 1: You're out. Days 1-3 are the hardest, you're all zonked out from the meds and you have a bloody nose the whole time. Days 4-7 the bleeding slows substantially, you feel like a person again. But you still have the bandage on your face, so if you can work from home, you should!
Week 2: The nose cast is off! You will have an appointment where Dr. Chaboki removes the cast and clips any stents out of your nose. An uncomfortable experience but WHAT a relief! I was so happy after that appointment I cried! - but be careful during week 2. You are still a little weird with the steroid medication/sleepy, and your nose is TENDER. Don't bop it on anything, trust me.
Week 3 & 4: The stitches start coming out so make sure you are still using the saline spray and ointment. This is a bit uncomfortable but not too bad. Also, your nose is less sensitive but still it hurts to touch it, it's also hard to open your mouth wide. You can also start exercising and feel comfortable while doing it!
Overall, a total of a month recovery. I am obsessed with my nose and wish I did this years ago. Thank you Dr. Chaboki & Janet!!!
