Update on Resurfx
WORTH IT
I updated both this and my IPL experience, since I had them in tandem. Since having this procedure, I can continue to see results, and in fact have people commenting on how good my skin looks. It should be noted that I was born with very ruddy fair skin, with bigger pores, so for people to complement my skin out of the blue is nothing short of a miracle. Note that I had this procedure in tandem with IPL, so results were a combined effect. Can't wait to do this again.

I had my Resurfx performed in combination with an IPL, which I reviewed separately. My Resurfx was done immediately after my IPL, and took approximately 15 minutes, tops. I had already been given numbing cream prior to the IPL, so my face was still numb. Just as with the IPL, I had virtually no discomfort. I could feel it, but it truly did not hurt. After this was completed, an Rx cream was applied to help with redness, and then sunscreen was applied. One of the staff members actually also applied some make up for me, and then I went off to work. My skin was a bit warm, as expected, but only for a few hours. No one seemed aware that I had anything done, and I did not have any "down time". I had some minor swelling the next day, but nothing that anyone else noticed. I wore my usual makeup on day 2. As expected, my skin felt a little rough for a few days, but it that appears to be going away. My skin looks great, and many of my fine lines, especially in the crow's feet section, appear to be gone or greatly diminished. I am thrilled with the results and plan on having this treatment again when my budget permits. I am also looking into Ultherapy for my neck and eyelids.

Thanks for sharing. Why did you do Resurfx after IPL- is it suppose to boost the results in general? Keep us posted on if you go back for more treatments or end up doing the Ultherapy :)

Hi, allegedly, having both treatments provides more complete photorejuvenation; the IPL treats brown & red discoloration of the skin such as sun spots, freckles, broken blood vessels and rosacea, while the ResurFX goes after coarse skin, wrinkles, and even mild scarring. (That's from the doc's website). I am still really happy, and I do plan on going back again, as soon as the budget allows, and I am also saving up to have the Ultherapy done as well. I have been getting microderm and mild peels for years, and this LPL/Resurfx made a huge difference.

Oh okay- thanks for explaining. Let us know when you do go back- we'd love to see some pics of how your skin looks while it heals if you are up for it.

I had the Resurfx seven months ago and I regret it every day. I had the IPL first and then the laser. It has completely destroyed my skin. I'm happy for you but I would never recommend it.

Do you have any pictures to share or why you feel it ruined your skin ? How is it today?

Can I ask how much it was? I am considering either that treatment or CO2 LASER for face neck chest

I'm glad someone had a positive experience with ResurFX! Reading all the bad reviews is scaring me. I'm planning on getting the exact procedure as Margarete - IPL and ResurFX along with PRP. PRP is supposed to help the healing process and promote tissue repair and collagen growth. I'll go more into detail after the procedure. Wish me luck.
