Just recently did a touch up with stored fat taken from first transfer procedure 6/22/17. Although this procedure is more costly than some fillers in the long run it is more economical and the results are more natural looking in the right practioners hands. There is also no risk of adverse reactions to the filler as it is your own fat. Downtime is minimal. I could see the difference in my pre and post photos from 6/22 and am looking forward to my touch up post photos as a comparison. Dr. Melanie Palm is an artist and produces natural results. She will not "over-fill" you or give you an appearance you no longer recognize. Her staff is welcoming, warm, and professional. Dr. Palm is my go-to Derm for cosmetic procedures.
I had taken the time to consult with several Dermatologist and Plastic Surgeons in the San Diego & OC areas regarding Sculptra and fillers. I felt most women looked over "filled" and felt Sculptra may be the more natural approach, however after reading many reviews , I realized Sculptra is not a "filler" and needed to be injected by a VERY experienced doc. After meeting Dr.Palm, my 3rd and last consult, I knew she was the one! I am so thrilled to say , my first Sculptra was yesterday, no swelling, no bruising and she truly put me at ease (hate needles) the ultimate Professional and I am looking forward to my second Sculptra. She put Radiesse in my hands , and it looks improved and very natural. I highly recommend Dr. Palm!
Dr. Palm is a fabulous doctor. She just makes you feel so much at ease when she talks to you. She doesn't try push you into any procedures that you don't want or need. I have complete confidence in her knowledge and her abilities. I know she just wants you to look and feel good about yourself. And she will do what she can to get you there. I'm still not sure about the Cellfina procedure results since it's only been a week, and they say it can can take months to see any results. But I am very hopeful. The numbing part of the procedure can be very uncomfortable especially in certain areas but not unmanageable. There wasn't any pain at all during the actual procedure. There's lots of bruising and soreness for the first 3-5 days. Tylenol really helps a lot for the pain. I'll keep updating my progress as time goes by.
First of all excuse my bad spelling as English is not my first language..I wanted to post this review because there seems to be a lot of negative reviews lately and feel it's important to also write about the positive ones, I was looking to get fraxel dual to help minimize my acne scarring on my lower face but decided to try Infini instead as it seemed to be safer for people with darker skin and the recovery time wasn't as long, I couldn't find any doctors that did this procedure in Colorado so I figured If I had to travel I would do my best to find someone very experienced in using the Lutronic infini ,I decided it would be either Dr. Steven F. Weiner or Melanie Palm I decided on Dr. Melanie Palm simply because it was a lot more convenient to get there from Colorado.. The procedure takes about 15 minutes I had some numbing cream put on my face it's a little painful during the procedure but as soon it's done the pain was gone.. My results have been good so far I'd say I see a 10-15 % improvement on my scars the first month, I just had my second procedure a couple of days ago and I feel further improvements is coming.. I hope people really try to consider this product especially if you have light or moderate acne scaring like me just make sure you find someone very experienced.. I'll post some pictures next month as the clinic took before and after pictures. .
More than 10 years after a facelift, I'm increasingly seeing some drooping and hollowness that I want to correct without any more surgery. Saw Dr. Palm for Radiesse to fill out the hollows in my cheeks and chin after Botox and Juvederm along the marionette lines. The injections were painless. Some swelling the first day that quickly subsided. I feel like I look 10 years younger. Love it!
I had recently had a CO2 ablative laser procedure to improve/remove wrinkles around my mouth and had an excellent outcome. Afterward, though, my lips looked even more like they needed fullness next to the new, smooth skin around them. Dr. Palm is the best in town at injecting lips without bruising and obtaining a beautiful shape, so I went back to her. She described the advantages of Silk over the older Restalyne products, told me she was one of a handful of doctors who had been allowed to use the new product. She was so right - lovely, natural, subtle and smooth, my lips look 15 years younger. What a fabulous product *and* doctor!
I had my IPL performed at Dr. Palm's office. I am extremely happy with the results that I am seeing. The procedure went really well. I was given a numbing cream before hand, and had no discomfort. My face was slightly warm for a few hours afterwards. The entire treatment took maybe 15-20 minutes, not including the prep time for the numbing cream. I would do this again in a heartbeat. I also had a Resurfx treatment done right after my IPL, which I will also review. I went to work after the treatments. I had a little swelling the following day, and was provided an rx to eliminate redness, which seemed to work. My skin did feel a little rough for a few days, as anticipated, but that dissipated quickly. For me, I had no real downtime, and no one noticed that I had anything done. My skin is much smoother, my pores appear tinier, and many fine lines seem to have disappeared. I am really glad that I had this done. (See my Resurfx review as well) Updated on 12 Aug 2016: I am so happy with the long term results of this procedure that I can't wait to do it again. Since having this procedure, I can continue to see results, and in fact have people commenting on how good my skin looks. It should be noted that I was born with very ruddy fair skin, with bigger pores, so for people to complement my skin out of the blue is nothing short of a miracle. Note that I had this procedure in tandem with Resurfx, so results were a combined effect. If money were no object, I would have this on my chest and hands, because it really makes a huge difference removing the brown and red age spots that seem to come out of nowhere. Highly recommend this procedure from Art of Skin M.D.
I never, ever thought I would do anything to my face. Then came middle age. Gamechanger. I work in the corporate world, which can be very unforgiving to us women as we age. I was born with a tired/mad face that I inherited from many generations of women in my family, and it has gotten worse with volume loss. (Doc said people refer to this as "resting b*tch face" which is so very apt.) I was also cursed with a down-turned smile, which I had hoped could be corrected too. I have pale, ruddy and thin skin. Almost had this done at a Medi-spa, but several signs along the way led me to realize that I needed to go to a true expert. Did my research and found Dr. Palm, which was a blessing. Watching her videos on YouTube and reading her reviews reassured me that she was the Doc for me. Her education and training are top notch. I was really impressed with everyone at this office. They were all kind and professional. I was seen promptly, and was guided every step of the way. Doc carefully and patiently spoke with me before the procedure, and after studying my face and asking me about my concerns, we decided on Voluma, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and botox. (I had gone in knowing I likely wanted Voluma and Botox). Dr. Palm really took to heart my wishes not to do anything that would be too noticeable right out of the gate. I did not want to look like one of those "blowfish" faces. I would rather have no perceptible results than to have people know immediately that I had "work done". She was happy to accommodate my wishes and clearly hit the mark. She also noted lesser volume on one side of my face, and worked to incorporate a solution into my treatment. I was given a topical numbing cream, and about 30 minutes later, the injections began. The fillers have more lidocaine in them as well. Doc kindly informed me of every step, and what to expect, which was very comforting. (I was anxious). Although you can definitely feel the needle pricks, it was completely do-able. Doc also started working on my down-turned smile. All in all, I think I was done in less than an hour. I went on to have dinner with a friend immediately following the procedure. My experience at this practice was nothing less than stellar. Every team member was awesome. My face was sore/tender for the first 3 days, and I did have some bruising that popped up intermittently in different spots, but I tend to bleed and have a low platelet count, so this was not surprising. I had some mild swelling, not noticeable to anyone but me. I also felt like I was getting ready to come down with the flu for the next 2 days, but it did not impact my activities, just felt a little "iffy". I think this might have been a typical reaction to botox. I was not impacted in any other way, and did my regular activities all weekend. One day after the procedure, I could see a benefit, and felt happy with the results. Doc recommended that we try Sculptra on the next round, and also recommended Ultherapy. I am booked for my next visit, and will start slow with the Sculptra first. I really believe that you get what you pay for, and when it comes to your face (or any other part of your body) you should go to the expert, which in my case, was Dr. Melanie Palm. She is highly trained (and in fact is a trainer) and knows what she is doing. Save up and go to the expert. I highly recommend this practice to anyone. Updated on 23 Mar 2014: I am happy to say that after 10 days post treatment, I am starting to feel better. It could have been anecdotal, and I could have actually been fighting the flu but I was just not feeling well. I do still have some bruises visible on my face, but I do bruise really easily, so I was not surprised by this. Stay tuned! Updated on 1 Apr 2014: I am really happy with Dr. Palm's work. And they have been spot-on with all the guidance, and I am feeling great. The results were very subtle, just as I requested. I can see a difference in the overall quality of my skin, and my wrinkles are diminished, but the work does not look "obvious", I just look refreshed. Updated on 16 Apr 2014: Yesterday I had my first Sculptra treatment. Although I was nervous, Dr. Palm and her team were once again awesome. I was really worried about coming out looking like a blowfish, and they reassured me multiple times that I would not. I thought 2 vials sounded like a lot, but as usual, they were spot on, and I came out looking great, but not "done". I also thought I might need a botox touchup, but Doc talked me down, stating I really did not need much more. She only gave me a tiny touch up. Although I really thought the Sculptra would somehow be much more difficult than the Voluma and Juvederm that I recieved on my first treatment, it actually was easier and went by very fast. I had much less tenderness this time around. I am only one day out, but I really feel good. I have 4 more days of the 5/5/5 massaging. My skin looks smoother, and my wrinkles are much less pronounced. And so far, no one seems to have noticed that I had work done, which is great. I am also using the retinol recommended by Dr. Palm, and I really feel a difference. Spend the money, go see an expert like Dr. Palm. Once again, I was really very happy that I found Dr. Palm and her team. They are phenomenal, and they have been on target every time. Updated on 28 Apr 2014: I am still very happy with my Sculptra results, thanks to Dr. Palm and her great team. I feel comfortable about booking the next Sculptra appointment. The initial treatment plan was for 5 vials, and the first treatment consisted of 2, so I have 3 vials left. I am also still happy using the Kinerase Tretinoin, which appears to be aiding in the smoothing out of my skin.
I found Dr. Palm online after researching doctors in my area and in surrounding states. I knew the minute I read her website and e-mailed with her staff that I had found my doctor. I flew from Utah to have Dr. Palm perform liposculpture on my arms. As a dancer I was not happy with how my tricep area was sagging. I am so happy I had this procedure done. It was relatively painless for me, I recovered quickly and my arms look great now!
After reading all these scary reviews I almost cancelled my 1st Sculptra appointment...I'm so glad I didn't. I received my first 2 treatments & have 3 to go. My first experience was excellent. You have to really trust your doctor, ask lots of questions & do your research. I totally trust my doctor & she immediately put me at ease. I received a numbing cream that was left on my face for about 45 mins. I barely felt anything she was doing. A few little bee stings, but nothing I couldn't handle. After the treatment you see immediate results...although it's temporary. You kind of get to see what your face will look like in a few months...I LOVED the results & so did my husband. I was so worried about bruising right before the holidays, but I'm on day 3 & so far so good. I was given some pills to take for the next 4 days so I won't bruise... I didn't notice any redness like some reviews have stated. The only thing I find challenging is massaging my face for 5 mins., 5 times a day for 5 days. If you don't have make-up on, it's not a problem. If you do have make-up on I find I have to reapply because I rub it off. I don't have any pain, just a slight tenderness along my jaw line...very tolerable. I can't wait for my next treatments & the results. If you aren't a patient person, this isn't for you :-)
EMSCULPT's high intensity focused electro magnetic energy (HIFEM) creates strong muscle contractions that build muscle tone and burn fat. In clinical studies, muscle mass increased by 16% and a 19% decrease in fat. For patients with diastasis recti, where the abdominal muscles are stretched apart, sometimes leading to a bulge in the mid abdomen, improvement may occur. Clinical studies demonstrated an 11% reduction in diastasis recti following EMSCULPT treatment. If your abdominal area suffers from loose skin, not fat or lax muscle, EMSCULPT is unlikely to help and surgery may be the best option for meaningful changes in this area.
EMSCULPT clinical studies and current practice recommendations recommend four, 30 minute treatments. They are to occur twice weekly over two weeks. Maintenace with a single treatment every 3-6 months is more likely to yield long lasting results.
It's likely you were an early in your search for EMSCULPT. EMSCULPT is trademarked as the technology that uses high intensity focused eletro magnetic (HIFEM) energy to create supramaximal muscle contraction that leads to increased muscle mass and fat reduction. Information is available on EMSCULPT.com, where you can find providers. Many of us also have excellent information on our own practice website.
EMSCULPT was studied in 7 clinical trials in over 200 patients for treatment to the abdomen and buttocks. Other areas that may be treated in the future could include the upper arms or thighs. However, these are off-label (not studied and not FDA-cleared) and an extensive conversation and consent is required between physician and patient to weigh the risks and benefits of treatment before proceeding.
Results from EMSCULPT treatment are long lasting due to the supraphysiologic muscle contraction delivered from HIFEM technology. The fat loss may be permanent, the muscle effects are long lasting (likely 6 months are longer). After an initial series of 4 treatments, periodic maintenance (every 3-6 months) is recommended. Reasonable dietary and exercise habits are also recommended.
