Jaw Reduction and Genioplasty Made my Face Look More Aristocratic

Basically, many people call it v-line but I didn’t find most appropriate category. For me a triangular, oval and v-shaped chin is considered to be a sign of aristocratic origin and ideal proportions of the lower part of the face were calculated back in the Renaissance. If you draw a line from the middle of between lips and chin interval and if it intersects with the ascending point of your lower jaw, the formed angle should be 100-110 degree. Such proportion creates a V-line but my face reminded more U-shape.
Hopefully, abilities of modern surgery allow to change the shape of the lower third of the face and bring it closer to the desired oval or triangle. For a facial contouring I decided there is no better place than South Korea and while searching for a good and reputable hospital I chose BANOBAGI PLASTIC SURGERY. At the primary consultation with Dr.Park, he assessed the nature and severity of defects and possible deformations. We determined goals of surgical correction and most importantly, Dr.Park carefully listened to all my expectations and what aesthetic result I want to receive from the operation.
A mandatory element of preparation for facial contouring was full face examination in combination with x-ray and ct shoots for a more accurate determination of the amount of bone tissue in the correction zone and teeth assessment. Since I had no problems with my bite, there was no need for an orthognathic surgery. According to the results, Dr.Park made a simple computer modeling to predict the possible outcome and developed an optimal strategy. The surgery included changes in the contour of lower jaw by resecting corners and excision of a small area of bone tissue in the center of my chin and movement forward, in other words narrowing of the chin by the T-osteotomy method.
Before the operation itself I passed through a mandatory diagnostic examination which included blood tests, electrocardiogram and tests for dangerous viral infections. Since my blood coagulability results weren’t good enough an additional diagnostic procedures and consultations with a narrower specialist was appointed. The main purpose of preoperative examination was to reduce the degree of operational risk and avoid any complications, hopefully further results were positive and my operation was postponed only to 1 more day.
The surgery lasted for about 2 hours under general anesthesia and as in the overwhelming majority of cases, the access was intraoral through incisions behind wisdom teeth and along the lower gum under the lower front teeth. My doc left no traces on my face and all stitches were inside my mouth. A compulsory period of postoperative hospital stay was 1 night. As any other patient who underwent facial contouring surgery I felt pain, discomfort and pressure but as any other man I bearded everything with dignity. Right after the surgery a very tight bandage was fixing my jaw which I wore for a week.
The active rehabilitation period with bruising and severe swelling lasted for about 2 weeks. During that period, it was very important and necessary to use a mask and eat only special food. My face was completely restored within about 3 months but to return to my usual daily life I could only 4 months later and my final result could be seen only 6 months after.
