Ever since my nose started growing when I was...

Ever since my nose started growing when I was around the age of 12 I have been very insecure about my nose. I had a "normal" smallish nose up to that point, but then all of a sudden (probably due to puberty) my nose began growing upwards. It still was not all that big, but it was very tall and I hated my new profile. I didn't want to get the surgery because I didn't want to seem fake and feel like I was a lie, but I finally decided that I grew up with a smaller nose, it was what I was used to, my bigger nose was not me and did not have to define me. Plus it was my face and I needed to do what would make me happy and feel good about myself, if anyone judged me for my decision then that was their own problem and they are obviously not the kind of person I need in my life. I got the surgery to take the "hump" off and I could not be happier. I look pretty much the same front on and now feel much better about my profile. I was concerned the change would be obvious and people would notice and question it, but nobody has noticed, not even my brother. I was very well informed going into the procedure and felt very safe with my choice of doctor. The procedure was quick and easy (that is coming from someone who needs anxiety medication just to get a shot). There was very little pain after the surgery and I only needed to take medication the first day. The main irritation was the stuffy (by stuffy I mean completely clogged and full of grossness) nose which lasted for about a week, it drove me insane, but it has been well worth it. It has been a little over a month now and I still can not breathe solely out of my nose without some help from mouth breathing, but that is to be expected because the swelling is still going down. Remember patience is key!!! You will probably hate your nose for the first couple of weeks, but it has no bearing on how it will turn out in the long run.
