  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.

1 month Post op

I am SO HAPPY! This has been a wonderful experience, the whole surgery was easy, my doctor, the nurses, everyone were all so nice and wonderful. I didn't have a ton of pain and felt pretty decent considering! This last month has flown by, but my weekly appointments for follow up and my Embrace scar therapy have all been so positive. Dr. Repta has a great staff, and he is wonderful, I can't say enough good things about his work!

Trying to be patient

I think I'm Down to about two months to go, I have a countdown on my phone and I'm trying to not watch it all day. I'm also trying to prepare myself physically, taking some extra orange theory classes and trying to really work my leg muscles into shape. I know that before I know it it'll be surgery day!

I wasn't sure if I was going to review or blog...

I wasn't sure if I was going to review or blog about my experience, but I might as well give it a whirl. I'm 33 years old and I have been overweight basically all my life. When I was in my early 20's I got to my highest weight and decided enough was enough and got a Lap Band. I lost almost 150 lbs and unfortunately not the best way. While the Lap Band was great, I told myself if it was tighter I would eat less and lose weight faster. I looked sick. I ended up having my band tightened too much and was throwing up every meal. Needless to say my body couldn't handle it and my stomach prolapsed over the band. I spend 4 days in the hospital trying to get well enough to have it removed. Once it was removed I slowly started creeping all the weight back on.

in 2009 the older and wiser me went and had a Lap Band put back in. I have had it since then with not problems and I steadily lost about 50 lbs. Once I plateaued instead of going back to fill my band, I started working out and seeing a nutritionist. Since then I've lost an additional 35 lbs and I'm now about 20 lbs from my goal weight.

Now comes to the fun part. While I work out 4+ times a week (Love the Orange Theory) and I have been eating right, obviously years of going up and down on the scale have totally wrecked my body. I had a consultation with a Doctor here in Phoenix and he agreed I was a great candidate for an extended tummy tuck, Muscle repay, and lipo. I felt totally at ease throughout the consultation and I can't wait for my procedure. I have about 3 months to get those last stubborn 20 pounds gone and mentally prepare myself for all of this. I am looking forward to see if all of the hard work I've been doing in the gym is actually under all that extra skin and fat in my stomach. I'll try to update as I learn more or if I think of anything else along the way. Please if anyone has any suggestions of supplies or anything let me know!
