Six Months Post Op
Nonetheless, I am including pictures (because my video wont load) of how they look now.
I still feel as though they dropped too low. I also HATE how they look when I flex... which if you ever are on top during sex, you use your pecs quite a bit. Not sexy.
My scars are still quite dark, even with silicon gel on them several times a week. If they dont heal as I had hoped, I imagine it is from doing to much work immediately upon getting home.
Also, do all [RS bleep] look like this with your arms up?
To doctors or other women: What do you think? Have they dropped too much? Is it normal for my boobs to look like that when I flex? How long did it take for your scarring to fade? How much did they fade? Are these realities I wasn't aware of before deciding to get a BA?
Ahem... Lessons Learned
I honestly knew nothing about the last two mentioned until a few days ago when I shared my progress with a friend via FaceTime. I told her I thought my right boob was taking too long to relax. She said, “It looks like its relaxed too much!! It’s dropped more than your left.” “But my right looks more swollen too, though,” I say. She then introduced me to the poisonous thought that maybe my right boob is bottoming out. FML. Then I show my boyfriend, who seems partially convinced. FML even more. I email my Dr and send out a public question on RealSelf.
My Dr tells me to wear a bra, but my settling looks good and as expected. Most other doctors tell me I am fine, too. I bought a bra anyway, and wear it religiously. I fit into a Calvin Klein underwired 34D, although my measurements are 31” band, 37” bust. I’ve never understood bra sizing.
Nonetheless, I may be noticing a difference to the shape with a bra on so much. They do look better. Maybe a bra isn’t such a bad idea. I just thought the whole idea of getting bigger boobs was NOT having to wear bras?!
So, my lessons learned: 1) Ask a professional before freaking out, and 2) you should probably wear a good support bras more than I did, and 3) MOST IMPORTANT: ask you doctor of all possible outcomes, so you can prepare properly.
Updates: Boob Greed, Uneven Dropping, Sex, and the like...
EXERCISE: I am working out as normal (not lifting too heavy, though) now. I began a more serious routine 6 days ago. Lifting and cardio with my BPM at <145.
SEX: My boyfriend and I have a very active sex life. I knew there'd be no way we could last 4 weeks without it... and I believe we were active 13 days after. Nothing crazy, nothing that made my boobs hurt (bouncing/chest pressed against anything/ grabbing or pushing up on my boobs). This past week I can say that we have done everything we avoided in the beginning. I dont have any pain.
MONDORS CORDS: After noticing them, I stopped using my left arm for anything. They have disappeared.
DROP & FLUFF: I think it's funny I didnt use my left arm for anything to get the Mondors Cords to go away, but now I have noticed that my left side has dropped more!! You can see in the photo what I mean. I still have the air bubble in the right breast, which also makes that boob look a little deformed laying down. Ugh, how long does it take for it to absorb?!
INCISIONS: Healing nicely. I still have scabs on both ends of each boob, and avoid putting scar cream on it. Where there is no scabs, I have been putting NewGel+ ($50) on it and massaging the scars. I read that the only remedy to scarring is silicone gel. I suggest everyone looking into this before purchasing scar creams. My scars are still raised and you can see them quite easily in my photo.
Provider Review
Email correspondence was timely and simple. Upon arrival to the clinic, all the doctors and nurses were so nice. Consultation was quick, and if I hadn't already done extensive research prior to surgery, I probably would have felt like I wanted more answers... Maybe more of a step-by-step expectation of my surgery day and recovery would have been nice. However, out of all the plastic surgeons I consulted, Dr. Rashi was the most endearing, sincere, and straightforward. I knew I could trust him. And from what I have seen and experienced so far in recovery, I am VERY happy with my results.
