WORTH IT$6,500

I have lost over 80 lbs and now have much excess skin in abdominal area, well other areas also but that is another topic. At 61 I feel almost silly to be spending money to get rid of loose skin and fat, however, I am going for my pre-op today at 2:30 and having the tummy tuck on Halloween. My objective with this procedure is simple, I want to tuck my shirt in and see my belt. It has been a long time since that has been possible for me. I originally planned to have this in December but yesterday got an e-mail from my Doctor's office about a Halloween special and could not resist the $1000 savings, my costume this year will be a flat tummy suit. I am gratefull that this is going to happen so soon, not giving me a lot of time to worry and reconsider all of this. I know it is best for not only my physical health but also my mental health in improving my external self image.

got the call.. now scheduled for 10am monday.. 66 hours to go. feeling really emotional about this, mostly anxiety I think. Taking all the pre-op vitamins and picked up all of the post-op meds. Starting anti-biotics sunday. My weight loss came as a result of changing food choices rather than dieting in a formal sense, I have no idea how many calories that I consume and have never felt hungry. I will be glad to share how this came about with anyone that is interested.
I will post a few pre-op photos this weekend, though I must say before hand that they are not pretty, something about gravity and loose skin.

Hi Dan!   Welcome to RealSelf.

Congratulations on the weight loss.  Unfortunately with that comes the hanging skin.  Been there and done that but you will love the results you are able to obtain with the tuck.   You shouldn't feel silly at all about doing this.  You deserve to look and feel good no matter what the age.   Besides 61 is young and the new 41 these days.  Go for it and be proud.

Only a couple more days and you will be home recovering.  Please do post the before and after pictures; would love to see them.  Also keep us up to date on how you are doing and your recovery process.

We will all be here to cheer you through this:)
