How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

This review is one that I wish I didn’t have to...
This review is one that I wish I didn’t have to leave. =( I finally convinced myself, after months of embarrassment and emotional breakdown, to write about my horrifying experience that I had went through with Dr. Toft. I am writing this so I can help others avoid the horrible experiences that I went through. I apologize ahead of time for this long review but I want to make sure that everyone gets the whole story. I will be breaking this review up into 4 different parts and will go step-by-step from the time we started the research on my facial procedure all the way through post-op.
Research- I have been suffering from severe depression for the last few years and compared to those my age, I have aged noticeably more due to my health problems. The sagging of my neck and face had increased my depression even further, because every time I would look in the mirror it was a constant reminder of my horrible life. I rarely every leave my home, only to get groceries but because of the way I look, I don’t even do that anymore. This is why I thought of having a face lift, so it can help me look younger and hopefully, encourage me to go out. So now that you know how I got myself into this plastic surgery mess I will explain the research process. I had looked all over the internet, searching Google, Yahoo, realself.com and many other places. I love using Yelp so I did that too. When I Yelped plastic surgeon I had got a few results and I saw that two surgeons had a few good reviews and one of them being Dr. Toft. So after doing a thorough or at least I thought thorough research, I scheduled a few consultations with different surgeons to see what they were all about and also, pricing (of course!).Dr. Toft was last on my list and after spending hundreds of dollars on consultations I was relieved that he didn’t charge a fee. I had called his office and spoke to the receptionist and she politely answered the phone and spoke to me and gave some information and scheduled a consultation with Dr. Toft.
Consultation-My son and I went together to Dr. Toft’s office; when we walked into his office, we really liked how it looked compared to a few other doctor offices we went to. Nice slate floors, beautiful furniture and his awards posted all over the walls. We were greeted by the kind receptionist as we walked in and then gave her the forms that they had mailed to us to fill out before arriving to the consultation. We hadn’t waited too long before someone had come and took us to a room. We waited a few more minutes and that is when Dr. Toft walked in. He greeted us, very kindly, and went through the paper work that we had filled out and asked additional questions. He asked me what I wanted and what kind of expectations I had and then he took a mirror and told me to hold in front of me and said this what I can do for you and he pulls both of my cheeks and the bottom of my neck making my face look really smooth and neck almost non-existent. I got extremely excited so I had to kind of kill the mood by asking how much the procedure will cost. He said he would send someone else for that but I told him that this procedure means the world to me and I told him all about my situation and the money I am giving him is from years of saving. He said he will make me look 10 years younger and I will take care of you so don’t worry. After wards, we went home and contemplated on it because the procedure is huge and going to cost over 13k. So I decided to do it and then we called his office to setup a date.
Preop- Arriving to my appointment on the day of the Pre-op I had made a full payment amount to the receptionist; it was extremely hard for me to watch all of that money go because I only had half the money and borrowed the rest so I was extremely nervous about everything. I went into the one of the exam room’s waiting for Dr. Toft. He came in, seemed really nice and explained everything to me and what was going to happen and what I should expect. I just wanted to confirm with him the things he had said that he was going to correct during the procedure, which was the removal of my jowls, create a nice jaw line, he said he would greatly reduce my laugh lines, the skin on my face would be much more tighter and my neck was going to be pretty flat but not completely gone and overall, I would look 10 years younger. I was somewhat happy with what he had said but still really nervous because of all of the horror stories you hear of things going wrong.
Postop- This is where all the trouble started. Dr. Toft had me come back the next day after my surgery, which, he said everything went well. I made an appointment again about 4-6 weeks out. When I went to that appointment everything was good and the results were good as well. About 2 and half months post-surgery, my face started to relax, A LOT! I got extremely worried so I called him and he said to come in and he can take a look. When I went in, my laugh lines had appeared again, like it was before the operation, my jowls had reappeared, I lost the curve of my jaw and my neck was uneven, what I mean is that one side sags lower than the other. So he himself said that the muscles have over-relaxed and we can’t do anything about it, yet because it is still healing and it is not good to operate when there is still healing happening. After saying that, he told me to hold on and he would come back. So I waited for 20 minutes in the room and then I got a little restless and went near his office and all he said was make another appointment in another 3 months and that was that. I had a feeling he was offended and that is why he walked out. I had ask one of the lady’s, the oldest one that works there (I forgot her name), that will he correct what has happened to me and will he be charging me more? She said that he will but he can’t do it until the current surgical procedures heal and he will only probably charge the facility fee of $500 or at the most $1000, which sounded ridiculous since I have already paid over 13k. So, 3 months later, I was back again into his office and he takes new pics of my face and the whole time I was feeling sick because I don’t know what is going to happen. He walks into the room and said “everything looks great!” I almost threw up right there because I knew what that meant. I asked him about the over-relaxing of the muscles he said no it looks good, it is an improvement then before. That is when I knew he wasn’t going to fix the unevenness in my neck that had appeared AFTER the operation and take care of everything else he promised he was going to do. I told him about what he said a few months ago and I saw he was getting offended again, which makes me laugh because it shows he can’t take criticism but I have the right, since I am paying that much money and my neck is uneven. He said that “you are expecting too much,” even though, he was the one that told me the things he could do for me before getting my money. He said that he can try and do lipo on my neck but it MIGHT or MIGHT not work and will only charge $1500. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. What else really bothered me and made me sad was that lady who I spoke to 3 months prior about getting a corrective surgery, she denied being there and I told her this was all the money we had and I can’t believe everything went down like this and it has really ruined my life. What she says next just broke me down; she told me, “oh that’s sad your letting money ruin your life.” I am sorry that the money I used and spent years saving is of no value to you.
Anyways, not everyone will go through a bad experience and not everyone will have a good experience. I wish I was sitting here writing a 5 star review like everyone else, but, unfortunately, I am not. Surgeons, carpenters, anyone who provides some kind of service will sell themselves anyway they can to you to try and get your money. Sometimes they may do a good job and sometimes they won’t. But, as a human being, when things go wrong they should admit to it and fix the problem and not just blow the person off since they already have their money. I know this was long but I really want people to be aware that sometimes things aren’t black and white. I will be pushing this further to the BBB and the Dept. of Consumer Affairs. I hope those who have suffered the same problems or similar come out and not be embarrassed about what has happened to them so others can learn from their experiences.

Provider Review
He is very nice and patient at first but after the operation and the problems I endured post-op he changed dramatically (for the worst!)
