My nose looks worse
Disappointing doesn't quite convey the amount of upset that has resulted from my rhinoplasty surgery with CC Kat, the results being that my nose looks worse than it did originally, poor after care too
Wish I'd Never Had Rhinoplasty with Mrs CC Kat
I’m not usually taken to posting reviews online but having had the worse experience and results from rhinoplasty surgery as performed by Mrs CC Kat (Kat & Co Aesthetics, Calthorpe Road, Edgbaston) I hope that by sharing this experience it will make others seriously reconsider having any procedures undertaken by Mrs CC Kat in the future.
My rhinoplasty was in 2017, I had concerns that my nose protruded too far from my face, it was my side profile that bothered me and was therefore looking to reduce this. After meeting with Mrs CC Kat I was confident because she came across very confident and said that we would be doing a few tweeks in respect of what I wanted, in addition she would remove a little of the underneath of the nose and also reduce the slight bump on the left and right had side of the bridge of the nose.
The surgery went well apparently, the first sign that I thought something was wrong was when the bandage was removed a week later, the nose looked a great deal shorter and was much broader than before, I was assured that this was just swelling.
I’m not sure how to put into words how traumatising it is to see that day by day your nose is getting steadily worse, whilst the swelling did go down the whole nose appeared to start twisting to one side, the nostrils started to look odd shapes, and certainly not the same as one another as they had done previously. The nose remained much broader than before and the bump on the bridge was still there. Where I used to have a slight hang up over the appearance of my nose I started to have real concerns to the point where I dreaded looking in the mirror, as I still do.
The whole after care with Mrs CC Kat leaves a lot to be desired, you can only communicate by email, or speak to a nurse, I was refused to be seen until after 3 months even though I explained how upset and worried was.
At the post op review meeting Mrs Kat already knew of my concerns via my emails and did eventually agree to do a revision rhinoplasty. At this point I was happy to accept anything that would improve the appearance, although I knew that the length couldn’t be added back, the fact of it being that the nose had been cut too short, aesthetically making me look less attractive, even without the other deformities that had occurred. Mrs CC Kat’s response was that none of this was her fault, and that by doing one surgery it sometimes creates other aesthetical issues such as now the space between my nose and lips being too long, so why did it have to be cut so short when surely a professional surgeon would know that and advise accordingly prior to any surgery.
Mrs CC Kat’s response to why the nose was broader was that it was my fault, as I had said that my preference was not to break the nose, however at the time Mrs CC Kat’s response to me was not to tie her hands and that she would do what she thought was the appropriate thing when we were in surgery. The worst feature being the twisting of the nose and the deformed nostrils she gave no explanation for other than you never know the exact results from surgery. I have to also say that Mrs CC Kat was also very reluctant to say that there would be no charge for the surgery, she changed her mind, back tracked and in the end after being asked the very direct question did say that she would do it for free.
I had to wait over a year to have the second operation which is standard practice. This felt like torture as the appearance of my nose was so bad, I was embarrassed, I avoided photos and as I do now bitterly regret ever going to see Mrs CC Kat.
I should also probably point out that I did see another two surgeons, one of whom said he wouldnt like to take on the job of correcting the deformities given that it would be complex surgery and the other did agree that he could but at a charge of over £10,000.
I have now had the revision rhinoplasty and whilst there is certainly some improvement, it still looks worse than my original nose, the nose still twists, the nostrils are odd uneven shapes and the lumpiness is still there, having been through the review process for the revision surgery with Mrs CC Kat she now advices that there is nothing she can do and that I should seek an alternate surgeon if I’m not happy.
I have lost so much confidence during this 2 year painful and upsetting process which has cost me thousands of pounds in surgery fees, consultation fees with other surgeons and fillers to try and improve the appearance. I am now seeking both legal advice as well as advice from other professional surgeons as I still hope that some improvement can be made, however none of this will undo the damage that has been caused to me physically, financially and emotionally. Think carefully before undergoing any kind of surgery and don’t fall for tag lines such as that on Mrs CC Kats website ‘making life beautiful’ because in my experience nothing could be further from the truth.
