Thrilled With My Results!

To say that I am satisfied with my experience and the results would be an understatement! I am SO thankful for Dr. Cochran and the results he delivered! He truly is the best!

Since my early teens, I had always been insecure about my nose. It wasn’t a “horrible” nose per say, but I had a decent-sized dorsal hump (thanks to my paternal family genes) and a bulbous tip that made for a very unflattering 45 degree profile—particularly when I smiled. In addition to the cosmetic concerns I had with my nose, I also had a deviated septum and frequent (severe) nosebleeds.

I am not one who takes the idea of surgery lightly. The mere thought of going under the knife has been known to make me queasy. Needless to say, I took my time and did thorough research on different rhinoplasty techniques and physicians. I went to numerous “top rated” plastic surgeons for consultations, including Dr. Cochran. My consultation(s) with Dr. Cochran stood out among his peers for the following reasons:

1.) He took his time. I never felt rushed or pressured into making a decision before I was absolutely ready. I ended up having four consultations with Dr. Cochran before I had my rhinoplasty. He and his staff were incredibly patient and gracious to me in each appointment, and allowed me to take as much time as I needed to overcome my anxiety about surgery.

2.) He listened to me. Instead of examining my nose and offering his expert opinion of what needed to be done, he first asked me what it was that bothered me about the appearance of my nose. We then worked together to come up with a plan that was realistic and pleasing to both of us.

3.) He explained the entire procedure in detail in each consultation. There were no surprises, no glossing over the “not so fun” parts of recovery (Black eyes, swelling, etc.)

4.) His presence and overall demeanor put me at ease. You can tell he knows what he’s doing. Dr. Cochran is one of only a few surgeons in the U.S. who only performs rhinoplasty. You have to be truly exceptional to specialize in such a narrow field. He is.

5.) He was able to use 3D imaging to give me an idea of what he could accomplish. Visualizing the end result was so helpful—it allowed me to see that we were on the same page about my new nose, and it gave me an idea of what I would ultimately look like.

I had my surgery in December of 2019. The entire process was so much easier than I had built it up to be. The day of surgery I spoke with Dr. Cochran briefly before being wheeled into the OR (which I only vaguely remember) then I blinked, and I was in recovery. I had NO pain whatsoever—only mild discomfort towards the end of the first week due to the nasal splints being inside my nose.

I am now three weeks post-op, and although I am still swollen, I already love my new nose! I can smell things I didn’t know I was missing (added bonus), I can breathe so much easier, and I have had ZERO nosebleeds since surgery. Now, for the important part: how it looks...It is already a vast improvement! My profile is CUTE—my dorsal hump is gone! The swelling continues to improve each day, and I am so pleased with what I see. It’s still me, only better.

If you are considering rhinoplasty, I highly recommend at least getting a consultation with Dr. Cochran. I am so glad I did. Your nose is the centerpiece of your face—don’t trust just anyone with it!
