This review is long overdue considering I had my revision over 10 years ago but I’m still really happy with the results. I haven’t had anything done besides my nose but was thinking about a brow lift recently and thought, well, I better leave a review for the doctor who gave me a beautiful nose. I even flew down years later to have him look at my scar and he did a little restitch then and there. The entire experience was pleasant, especially because I was young and a nervous wreck about going under again after my previous experience. Thanks Dr. Cochran from Seattle!
4 months out from my primary rhinoplasty and could not be more pleased with the results. I had 4 separate consultations and I went with Dr. Cochran because he only does rhinoplasties and focuses on building a nose that will be functional and look beautiful.
Dr. Cochran truly changed my life! It’s been a little over a year since my revision rhinoplasty with him (after two failed septoplasties from a different provider) and I could not be more pleased with my results. His attention to detail, understanding my needs as a patient and overall bedside manner and post-operative care is truly unmatched. His staff is also fantastic and ensured I was comfortable and educated throughout every step. Look no further — Dr. Cochran is the provider for you!
It took me three years to find the right doctor and make the decision to get a rhinoplasty for aesthetic reasons. I could not be happier with Dr. Cochran's work . My nose looks exactly like the pictures/goals we aligned to! Extremely natural results, and aligned to my hispanic facial features
This review is way over due. Dr. Cochran is absolutely exceptional. My case was not easy and 2 years on I feel he produced arguably perfect results. Life changing. The entire process you can trust you are in the right hands.
In 5th grade, a soccer ball hit my face and broke my nose. Specifically, the bone was broken and the cartilage was cracked. While I fortunately did not have any functional issues, there was a slight but clear deviation in my bridge (among other aesthetic concerns I had). I always knew I wanted to fix my nose, so years later, in my mid-twenties, I scheduled two consultations with prominent rhinoplasty surgeons in Dallas. My first consultation was with Dr. Rohrich, and my second consultation was with Dr. Cochran. While I liked Dr. Rohrich, I appreciated how detailed Dr. Cochran was during my hour-long 3D imaging morph. He was very nice, answered all my questions, and gave me realistic expectations. After the consultation, I knew I wanted to book with Dr. Cochran. Besides his pleasant disposition, I knew I wanted someone who was an EXPERT in RHINOPLASTY -- not a plastic surgeon who did breast augmentations, facelifts, rhinoplasties, and everything else all in the standard week. Rhinoplasty is the most difficult cosmetic procedure, so aesthetically, I wanted someone who knew how to match my ethnic features, and functionally, I wanted someone who knew how the nose worked so I wouldn't have any breathing issues or nasal valve collapse. As an ENT who exclusively does rhinoplasties, Dr. Cochran fits the bill perfectly. My surgery was 6 days ago, and I got my cast and sutures removed today. Even though I am still very swollen, I love everything about my new nose. It is so beautiful and, more importantly, functional! Dr. Cochran and his staff have wonderful bedside manner; Kassandra, his nurse, always responded to my (many) emails, and I frantically called Dr. Cochran not even 24 hours post-op at 5 AM because I accidentally hit my cast and he said to come in that morning so he could take a look. Luckily, everything was fine, and he even accurately predicted when my worst day of swelling would be. I know I have a year before all my swelling comes down, but it is already such an improvement. My nose used to be my biggest insecurity and now it looks so pretty. I highly recommend scheduling your rhinoplasty with Dr. Cochran!
Dr. Cochran and his staff are world-class. I could not have imagined a better experience, and my results are better than I expected. I interviewed three plastic surgeons in Dallas and Dr. Cochran was hands-down my favorite. He even met me at his office on the eve of a big snow storm when the office was otherwise closed in order to remove my bandages so I wouldn't have to wait a day longer. You will not be disappointed!
I had a primary rhinoplasty by Dr. Cochran in September 2013 and I am very happy with the result. I waited 15 years because it was a major decision. After extensive research and a consultation, I confidently selected Dr. Cochran. Also, if you have an eye for detail and closely analyze the photo galleries of multiple surgeons, you can identify their style. I chose Dr. Cochran because he provides natural looking noses which is very important. A nose that looks overdone is obvious and not attractive. I am happy to report that my nose looks natural and beautiful. The before and after difference is significant and impressive. My nose is functional with perfect breathing. For rhinoplasty with any surgeon, you need to be emotionally, mentally, and physically prepared because the post-op recovery process will challenge you on different levels. Please have prospective patients call me for brief testimonials.
I could not say better things about this practice and Dr. Cochran. I had a rhinoplasty done on the 10th of September and just got my cast off yesterday! My quality of breathing has been enhanced ten fold and to top it off my nose is absolutely beautiful even with the swelling. I could not ask for a better result. The staff answered every single question that I had.. Mayra, Jane, Jan, and for the life of me I cannot remember the nurse’s name that removed my cast/stitches/splints.. Dr. Cochran has an awesome team. If you’re considering changing the appearance or functionality of your nose you will thank your self for trusting him! I will do my best to remember to come back and add pictures when all of the swelling has gone down. Updated on 25 Mar 2021: 6 month update, side profile and profile pictures. Went to a follow up appointment 3 months ago, still slightly swollen. September 2021 will be one year and all swelling is expected to be gone. Dr. Cochran is an awesome surgeon and I highly recommend him!
Dr. Cochran is a fantastic, experienced surgeon with an amazingly humble and incredible bedside manner. Dr. Cochran performed a very difficult rhinoplasty revision on my wife 10 years ago, and the results were aesthetically phenomenal and looked like the nose she could have been born with; so natural and beautiful. After her great results and experience with Dr. Cochran, I decided to make the time to address my nose and a deviated septum and crooked nose from previous sports injuries, coupled with a fairly prominent bulbous tip. I consider Dr. Cochran to be especially great at the tip of noses; perhaps one of the best in the Country. I am three months into the recovery process with my nose revision, and the recovery process is and aesthetics are already greatly improved. I too had a previous rhinoplasty that like my wife at the same time about 11 years ago. The other surgeon's results were not very noticeable; almost as if not much had been done to the nose. It looked about the same after a full three years. Dr. Cochran performed an equally as great of a rhinoplasty on myself as my wife. Dr. Cochran ONLY PERFORMS RHINOPLASTY procedures. He is not distracted by all the other procedures other surgeons perform, which makes him a true specialist in this area and is something anyone considering nasal revision should strongly consider. He is a perfectionist too. I hope this helps, and good luck with your rhinoplasty. My wife and I are now ages 47 and 50 respectively. We wish we could have found Dr. Cochran initially and not had to endure revisions. Getting it right the first time is a much easier process. Dr. Cochran is really wonderful and you will have a great experience, as he genuinely cares about each patient and their goals.
Rhinoplasty is frequently quoted as being the most difficult procedure in cosmetic surgery. One challenge that patients and surgeons face is the task of straightening a crooked nose. Usually it is possible to make significant improvement in symmetry and straightness (both inside and out) -- but, making a nose perfectly straight is very difficult. As surgeons, we do have a certain degree of control in the operating room and the goal is always to make the nose look the absolute best (straightest!) as possible. However, what we dont have control over is the healing process. It is possible for a nose that was made near perfectly straight in the operating room, to become slightly crooked before it heals completely. If the nasal bones are surgically broken, they can shift slightly due to swelling or from an accidental bumping of the nose, which can cause it to shift slightly.
Patients frequently ask me if their nose will continue to grow as they get older. The nose can appear to become bigger as patients age, however, it is unusual for the nose to actual grow after reaching adulthood. Rather, the support structures of the nose tend to loosen or weaken and the nose tip can droop, which makes the nose appear to look bigger. Additionally, changes in skin texture - and in particular skin thickening - can also make the nose look large as patients age.
Any good rhinoplasty surgeon should be equally skilled at addressing BOTH the functional and the cosmetic issues. This fact is much more important than whether the surgeon is designated as a PS or an ENT. There are plenty of excellent ENTs who can adequately address the internal stuctures to improve breathing but lack the expertise in the cosmetic component. Similarly, there are plenty of excellent PS who are not skilled at addressing the functional part. In my opinion, if a surgeon cant fix both, he or she has no business performing this type of surgery. You would be wise to steer clear!
Pre-operative rhinoplasty imaging, especially 3D imaging, is a valuable tool for both the patient and the doctor. For the patient, imaging can help patients understand the effect that changing the nose has on the overall appearance. For the surgeon, imaging is an important part of the preoperative analysis and planning. Patients and their surgeon should agree upon the goals for surgery, and imaging can help ensure that those goals and expectations are mutually understood. While imaging is useful technology, it is important to remember that it is just a simulation of a proposed result.
It is very common for the nose to look more upturned (rotated) than it really is. This is particularly true during the first two weeks following surgery because of the degree of swelling in the skin of the nose. Also, some patients expereince swelling of the upper lip in the area immediately below the columella (column of tissue between the nostrils). When this area swells, it can distort the angle of rotation and make it appear that it is tilted up more. Be patient, this should improve with additional time. Discuss your concerns with your physician.
