This is about one year and a few weeks post op. I've gotten several more steroid injections throughout the year. I love seeing pictures and videos of my side profile now. I do have a bit of swelling left on the right side of my nose but I truly believe that was caused by being a side sleeper.
The Perfect Experience
Having an elective surgery was nerve racking considering it would be my first surgery of any kind. On top of that I was looking to get the focal point of my face changed. I was presented with endless options of surgeons around the area and within the US which also made it a bit more challenging but in a good way. My search for a rhinoplasty surgeon took years but I know now that I made the best choice.
Setting up a consultation with Dr. Miller was a breeze and in the consultation itself it was clear that he aesthetically knew what would best suit my face. His kind and caring demeanor made me feel at ease. Soon after, I booked my surgery 4 months out since I wanted to be able to heal over the holidays but they had availability a lot sooner than that. I was given instructions, prescribed pain medicine, and a few other things to pick up before surgery. I also had my blood work done in the office where I had my surgery about 2 weeks before which was great that they offered that as an option.
Day of the surgery everything started on time. Pre-op was easy and the anesthesiologist made me feel like I was in good hands. This is the part that I was most nervous for but it was so quick and easy that I feel silly for even worrying about it. I woke up and headed home to rest. The healing process was completely painless. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to take any pain medication at all.
Day 6 was when I had my cast and stitches removed. I am now just over 2 months post-op. I am very thankful and loving my new nose! There is of course still a bit of swelling that needs to go down (can take about 1 year) but I was given a steroid injection at my second follow up to speed up the healing process. As the swelling goes down I am loving it more and more! Dr. Miller knows exactly how to make each nose fit each patients face in the most natural way. He works with your features instead of giving everyone the same nose which is exactly what you want when looking for a rhinoplasty surgeon.
Overall, Dr. Miller is talented and experienced and it shows through his work. I would recommend him to anyone considering a rhinoplasty. I would also like to note how Claire made the experience of getting me set up for surgery so wonderful. She is the sweetest person and it was a pleasure having her as the one to help me with getting all the paperwork in order.
