Great Surgeon - TERRIBLE COMPANY !!!!

I initially booked my surgery in January 2023, and chose the 22nd of June for my surgery.

Where do I even start with the mess that is ClinicHub.....

Throughout the initial booking process the replies off my co-ordinator were very slow, until it came to me paying my deposit, and then replies went extremely slow again.

A month before my surgery I was told that my Surgeon would not be available on my "cast off" day due to a holiday (Eid), so I was instructed to move my departure date to the 29th of June instead of the 28th, so that Dr ?ahin would be available to remove my cast on the 28th instead. I begrudgingly did so, which cost me an extra £400.

When I flew to Istanbul, I got to the hotel provided by ClinicHub and was charged £122 for a "standard double" room as my package only included a "twin bed" room, even though my co-ordinator confirmed they had booked me a standard double room. I managed to get this refunded after complaining, however I later found out that I would only be in that room for one night only and not my whole stay, as you check out when you go to the hospital and when you check back into the hotel afterwards you are given a different room. So I would have paid £122 just for one night.

I paid my outstanding balance in full via bank transfer two weeks prior to my surgery. The day before my surgery I was then asked how I was going to pay! I had to show receipt of me sending over my transfer even though my co-ordinator had already confirmed that they had received it.

When checking back in from the hospital, I was told there were no non-smoking rooms available, therefor had to check into a smoking room on a smoking floor, which as you can imagine you do not want after having SURGERY ON YOUR NOSE! I am in a group chat with other patients who advised that when they checked back into the hotel they were given a non-smoking king size room free of charge, however this was not offered to me even though those rooms were available, so immediately I felt like I was not receiving the same service as other previous patients.

During my stay, I came up to my room on one occasion and the room had been cleaned and one of my personal belongings had been thrown away. After 4 trips down to reception, and multiple calls asking for my possession back, the hotel had the nerve to send someone up to my room and get on their hands and knees checking under the bed for my item, and refusing to admit that they had discarded it. Thankfully my boyfriend went down to reception to keep complaining until they did something about it, and a couple hours later they bought my possession back to me, however it was clear that my item had been thrown in the bin. I did not receive any type of apology for this.

Thankfully I am in a Whatsapp group with other patients of Dr. ?ahin, so I was able to keep in contact with other patients of his during my stay. I would later find out that this was a much better was of finding out information as the co-ordinators do not keep you in the loop with what is happening. (I highly suggest finding one of these groups for your chosen surgeon if you choose to have Rhinoplasty in Turkey).

On the Sunday before my cast was due to be removed, another patient informed me that Dr. ?ahin was not going to be in Istanbul to remove her cast. This instantly filled me with dread, as I knew that that meant he probably wouldn't be present for my cast off either. I messaged multiple co-ordinators for an answer as to whether Dr. ?ahin would be available or not and it took 48 hours to get a reply, so I was kept in the dark not knowing what would happen on my cast off day. I even messaged Dr. ?ahin directly on Instagram, and he read my message and left me on read, even though he was answering other patients (which I found out via the WhatsApp group). Later the next day after chasing my co-ordinator AGAIN for an answer it was then confirmed that Dr. ?ahin would not be present, and I was told to "respect the holiday". Now don't get me wrong, I am very understanding, and I have no issue with the holiday. HOWEVER what I do have an issue with is the fact that I was told to pay extra to move my flights by a day so that he would be available, so to be told that I had paid an extra £400 to stay an extra day for absolutely nothing was extremely frustrating, and yet AGAIN I did not receive an apology for their error.

If I had knew when booking that he would not be available I would have happily moved my surgery date. I was in no rush to get this rhinoplasty, I could have waited a couple of weeks. After explaining my frustrations to my co-ordinator I was repeatedly told that cast-off is "not a big deal" and it "doesn't matter which doctor removes the cast" !!!!!!!

Do they not realise that booking surgery that is going to alter your face forever in a foreign country IS a big deal and you book this procedure knowing that the surgeon you chose will be there every step of the way.... It takes years if not months to decide which surgeon to choose for these procedures, if I didn't care about these things then I would have chosen any random surgeon to do my surgery! So to be so easily dismissed by my co-ordinator and ignored by Dr. ?ahin was extremely disheartening and frustrating.

I was told my cast would be removed by Dr. Burak, however because he did not perform my surgery he was unable to show me how to massage and tape my nose. I was told that I would be able to arrange a post-op video call with Dr. ?ahin after the holiday was over, however I am still yet to hear anything.

I was also told initially my companion could be with me for every step of my experience in Instanbul, but because they decided to book in 10 patients over the period of the holiday, there was a back-up of people getting their cast off the same day as myself. My co-ordinator informed me that this meant that my companion would not be able to accompany me to get my cast removed. (Which is a big deal to patients as it would be the first time I see my new nose after my surgery.) I asked if he could ride in the front with the driver to which my co-ordinator agreed, however when we came down to reception to get into the taxi they refused to let them come with me again. So I had to travel alone for my cast removal.

And as if that week of inconveniences wasn't bad enough, my transportation on my departure date started driving us 30 minutes to the wrong airport!!!! If I hadn't of had any data to check google maps I would have missed my flight home and had to pay even more money for their cock up!!

I am so glad that I am happy with the results of my surgery, however it is extremely difficult trying to get a reply back directly from Dr ?ahin, and I do wonder if I ever will get my post-op video consultation with him. I don't know whether it is because he is gaining popularity, but recently it is starting to feel like a numbers game, rather than actually caring about his patients.

If you can avoid this company, I recommend doing so! Absolutely AWFUL communication and organisational skills, they treat you like a number on a sheet not a human being, they do not know how to apologise and have no remorse for their errors.
