Revision Rhinoplasty - 1 Year PO
I am a few weeks shy of being one year post op from my revision with Dr. Faris.
Pros:

Cons:
- [ ] Very short consultation. About 10 min for the online consult and 20 min for the in person consult
- [ ] No bridge augmentation visible even in the slightest
- [ ] No check in from any of the staff after surgery except from Dr. Faris on day 2 via FaceTime to take out my splints. After care post surgery was also basically non existent until I started complaining about my results.
The plan of this revision was to de-rotate my nose and build my bridge as well as restore a hump back. The de-rotation was successful and has been stable since cast off. De-rotating a nose is very difficult and he did that part very nicely.
However, the bridge augmentation was a complete fail. It stood up for only one month. Once the swelling went down the bridge sunk back to exactly how it was pre revision. Now that my nose is longer the low bridge looks even more flat than before. I know many people on many forums wish to go to him based on the photos they see on instagram of him restoring convex noses. I came to him with the same hope and excitement. I have consulted with a few revision rhinoplasty specialists since this revision and when I tell them I had my revision to build my bridge up and get a slight convex shape they look at me in disbelief because it’s so flat. Doesn’t even look like it was touched. I have seen many posts of people who have gone to surgeons to de-rotate and augment a bridge and their results looks so nice. Even though the doctors didn’t add a hump back they added a great amount of projection to the nose bridge meanwhile mine looks like at most it was augmented 1mm. I not only didn’t get my hump back I got no sight of any bridge augmentation whatsoever.
I voiced my concerns pretty early on and he offered a free revision but suggested I would only need about 1 mm augmentation and would do it with ear cartilage. Ear cartilage has a higher reabsorption rate and I need way more than just 1 mm augmentation. Who would spend thousands to travel to the Netherlands from the US, spend money on accommodation and the OR room and anesthesia to get 1 mm augmented with ear cartilage? No one. It’s great he offered me a “free revision” but the offer doesn’t sound as great when the surgical plan and all the associated costs are factored in. So I declined the offer. As for consultation all together I got maybe 30 min and paid 100 euros. Meanwhile in the U.S when consulting with Doctors I paid 100 dollars and they give me an entire hour sometimes even more and explain everything in great detail. Please look on ALL forums for reviews (Facebook revision support group, Reddit ect for reviews not just here). Do your research thoroughly and ultimately no matter how good or bad the surgeon is or seems on their Instagram this surgery is a gamble. Or maybe I am just unlucky. I went to a now very famous surgeon in Turkey that is known for natural noses and came out with the fakest most operated on nose. I came to Dr. Faris for restoration of my birth nose as he has done to others with no sight of my bridge being augmented in the slightest. I used to be such a lively person, now I’m living with constant regret every single day.
