Bad First Impression
I am so disappointed in his office and my inability to simply get a consultation. I had a heartbreaking experience with another doctor three years ago that I travelled outside of Canada for. When I say it was horrible, I mean lawsuit - abuse - worst case scenario you could imagine terrifying. It has plagued me for these past few years, I got a lot of help since then in coping and was now finally ready to fix my nose. Seeing it daily is a constant reminder and I finally wanted to close this chapter. Dr. Asaria was always one of my top few choices, as there aren't many in Canada that are good. I have been trying to book a consultation with his office for weeks but they are the worst with communication and organization, as well as accommodation. The woman I have been exchanging with from his office cannot keep things straight, I keep repeating information to her, she keeps sending the same questionnaire to fill out that I have sent already and is simply reluctant to book me in - if you want to turn me away because you don't think the surgeon is capable or has the skills to take this on, just say it. First she says she can put me in for a consultation in JULY, then I take a few days to respond and all of a sudden its August-September. I get it, he's a busy surgeon. But I made it clear I won't be doing a video consult - I'm 20 mins away, and just doing a video consult I think is useless, impersonal, and what got me into trouble picking my last surgeon. She kept pushing this. Then worst of all, she tells me I'm not even allowed to book a consultation until they get the documents from the last surgeons office. I told them how uncomfortable I am with this considering they know the circumstances surrounding this but they KEEP pushing it, therefore further victimizing me from this whole disaster as its like they're giving this ultimatum: I have to get in contact with the "doctor" who took advantage of me which will upset me all over again or I don't get to fix his mistake. Why can't a surgeon experienced in this field be able to assess based on looking at my nose what is wrong (it is very evident)? This practice needs to be more accommodating, and be accountable for the harm they inadvertently cause. Anyway I do not feel this is a trustworthy place that respects me or my time so I am looking elsewhere (if anyone has any suggestions, I'm in the midst of meeting with other surgeons). They also need to remember that their work is based off patients like me paying tons of money for cosmetic procedures, you can't treat patients like this its a business.
