After going back and forth for several years, I...

After going back and forth for several years, I finally decided to go through with breast augmentation. I breastfed my child for over a year and my breasts were not as perky as they once were. In addition, I really enjoy exercising and was finding that my breasts were the first thing to shrink when I started working out. I started out as a 34 B and was hoping to get to a full D cup.

I am a very research oriented person, so when I decided it was the right time for this procedure, I read everything I could on the subject. After spending a few weeks becoming as much of an expert as I could on the subject, I started with consultations. I did not care for the 1st plastic surgeon I met with. He rushed me through the appointment and his surgical techniques were not what I was expecting. The next day, I met with Dr. Pyle at Davis Plastic Surgery in Raleigh. The first thing that impressed me was that the doctor himself greeted me in the waiting room and led me to the appointment. Dr. Pyle and his assistant were so kind, patient, and knowledgeable during the entire process. I asked many questions and Dr. Pyle answered each one thoroughly. His nurse, Molly, was also very pleasant to work with. She gave personal advice regarding the healing process and helped put my mind at ease. I scheduled my surgery for 1 week after the initial consultation. As I read more about the procedure (and began to overthink everything), I called the office to ask more questions. They were kind enough to let me come in for a second consultation to answer anything else I had thought of.

On the day of surgery, I was very nervous. Dr. Pyle and his staff did a wonderful job calming me down and assuring me I was making a good decision. The recovery process went as smoothly as could be expected. The first few days my throat was very sore and my arm movement was limited. It was crucial to have someone to help me for the first 2 days, as I couldn't do a lot physically. The pain was very manageable and I only took the narcotic pain meds for 1 1/2 days. After that, I took ibuprofen 800 for about a week.

From the start, my new breasts have looked wonderful. They were never super high or odd looking, although they have dropped into a more natural position over the past few weeks. I am very pleased with the results at 6 weeks post-op. With the help of Dr. Pyle, I chose 400cc saline, under the muscle implants with a crease incision. I went from a 34 B to a 34 D/DD. I have much more confidence when wearing clothing and with my husband. I would definitely recommend this procedure and Dr. Pyle to anyone considering it!

To give a well-rounded review, I will add the one thing I think could be improved by Dr. Pyle and his staff. The follow-up visits left a bit to be desired. It is somewhat aggravating to fight interstate traffic for over an hour to have a 5 minute appointment. Dr. Pyle, while still very kind and professional, spent a little less time than I would have liked going over post-op instructions and progress at my follow-up visits. I would like to see a more comprehensive overview of my post-op status (including physical manipulation of my breasts to check for any abnormalities), thorough discussion of the progress that has been made (internally and externally) and what to expect in the coming weeks/months.

Overall, I would recommend Dr. Pyle to anyone, without hesitation. He has a very kind personality and really made the entire process much less stressful.
