FINALLY doing this!!!!! I just had my consultation...

FINALLY doing this!!!!! I just had my consultation with Dr. Vistnes in Palo Alto, CA, and I scheduled my surgery right after. I have always been pretty bottom heavy, with a big butt and hips but A cup boobs. Victoria's Secret told me I'm a 32C but that's bs haha I'm 100% an A. I'm so flat that pushup bras don't really help, and I've always hated it. I feel so self conscious in bathing suits and don't like guys seeing me naked. I don't think my boobs are ugly or misshapen or anything, they're just so small that it makes me look manly on top. I've known since I was 16 that I was eventually going to get my boobs done to look more feminine, and since I just got my first real job I thought I would give myself a BA as a college graduation present.
At the consultation, the doctor used the computer software that shows you what you will look like with various sized implants. The image I liked the most was the one with moderate profile 600cc implants, but honestly I think that was just the software making it look different than it will in real life, and I think I will likely end up going with something around 450-500cc. I want to have natural looking cleavage but also some side boob, so the doctor recommended I go with a mod profile wider implant, but we won't know for sure until I try on sizers in real life at my preop appointment which is on June 28.
Ultimately, I want to have natural-ish looking boobs, but not too natural because I'm not paying this much $ for nothing lmao. My doctor says I am an ideal candidate for a great outcome from implants, so I am hoping to end up with PERFECT boobs when I'm all healed up! :)
I'll give a full review of my doctor and everyone in the office after my surgery

Question, did they have to put an expander in to make the pocket bigger? I originally wanted 550 or 560 but it sounds like he cannot fit that because I am currently too small. I am just curious how your doc was able to fit the bigger size.
September 13, 2017
It was not easy, to say least. My surgeon had a little trouble during surgery and told me they wanted to pop out during sutures so she had to suture and then place them and continue suturing. She reinforced dissolvable sutures which are now starting to dissolve. My post op instructions were pretty strict but it was all with it. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I didn't need an expander, I guess I have a large enough frame that it was able to fit. My skin isn't very stretchy though so they have been slow to drop so far.

Jeez that's so scary! I'm glad everything worked out though and you're happy with them :)

That makes sense. I'm 5'7" as well but I weigh 190. With an athletic frame. I'm a 34AA right now. I was hoping for a full C to D. But as I was sitting there I decided I want more on the D side and they were trying to steer me away from that which was a little disappointing. I go at the end of October for my sizing appointment. I'm excited/nervous. I've already started vitamin E and Bio oil on my skin in hopes of fitting the bigger implant. Haha. Do you have any recommendations on what to expect then and what did you do post op? From what I'm learning each surgery is different and the post op instructions are always different.

I accidentally commented at the top instead of replying directly to your comment, so I'll repost it here:
I'm not sure why your doctor is telling you that you won't be able to fit 550-ish cc's. With your measurements I think a D or even DD would probably just be proportional, it wouldn't even look that big on you. I started out 34A-B (I wore a 34B at Victoria's Secret before surgery) and ended up a 34D and I've had no problem whatsoever with my size, I could've gone bigger no problem. There are tons of girls with smaller frames than us who get upwards of 600-800cc's and they don't have issues with the implant not fitting.
The way my doctor did it was he had me try on various sizers and just had me pick whichever one I thought looked best on my body. He didn't tell me how many cc's each sizer was, and when I asked what cup size he thought I would end up he wouldn't give me an answer, saying that every store has different versions of each cup size. I think he purposefully did not want to answer that question because many people will have their mind set on a certain cup size letter, when really you will end up the happiest if you just pick a size that looks proportional without worrying about the size letter. I did it his way and am extremely satisfied with my result.
For post-op, starting 4 days after surgery I was instructed to do breast lifts by lifting the bottom of the breast up and down with a flat hand, this was to help prevent capsular contracture. It hurt at first because the wounds were still so fresh, but after a week or so it didn't hurt too bad anymore. After 3 weeks, they weren't dropping fast enough so I had to start compressing the implant from the front with my hands to help stretch out the skin below the nipple. I haven't been very diligent about doing that though so they still have a lot of dropping to do. They'll still drop eventually, it just takes longer if you don't do the exercises, but I'm not really concerned about how long it takes as long as they get there eventually. I had to postpone my 2 month appointment so I'm not sure what the next set of instructions will be, or if there will be any.
I hope this helps! Good luck with your sizing appointment!!

Thank you so much for your reply!!!! I think he's telling me smaller bc of the capsular contracture. That's where you get the divide at the bottom of you boob right? It's like a fold almost if I'm remembering correctly. I can't wait for the sizer appointment. I'd do this sooner just bc I'm excited and want it over with. The anxiety is through the roof bc of the unknown size. I'll keep you posted. Btw. Your ladies are amazing! Excited for you!!

It seems like your doctor is actually referring to re-positioning your natural kris, which heightens the chance of forming a double bubble later on. If that is what he is telling you he would do in the case of the larger implant, I would steer clear of that personally. However there are women who have adjusted their natural crease and have experience no negative effects. If I were to choose this method, I would constantly be concerned about bottoming out or getting a double bubble which is what your doctor seems to be explaining to you. Capsular contractor is the most common complication for breast on mentation, and it also has no definitive causes. With that being said, capsular contraction would not be a reason why you could not go big. :)

your results look great! but i really just to say i consulted with this doctor over the summer and he said the same exact thing to me, which is that i'm an ideal candidate for a great outcome. i look quite different to you too, so that gets me wondering if he just says that to everyone. however he seems to do a good job otherwise. i'm hoping he meant it and that we just both happen to be great candidates for this procedure!

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Vistnes! At my pre-op appointment we decided on 560cc high profile implants, because I wanted a full D. Yesterday I started to freak out a little, thinking that 560cc was going to be too big, and I really don't want to not be able to fit into my shirts anymore, and I was afraid big boobs would make me look fat lol. But today Dr. Vistnes told me I basically had no option except the 560cc and that this was the size I decided on and he thought I should stick with it, so I did. And I'm so happy!! I think that 560cc is actually perfect for my body type, since I'm a little on the tall side. I can already tell the result is going to be amazing.
The pain was moderate when I woke up from anesthesia, but I took a couple of percocets and now I've been feeling great since. I don't need anyone to help me go to the bathroom or anything, I feel very capable and alert.
