I cannot write much thus far due to legal process....

I cannot write much thus far due to legal process. However, this is my result and in my opinion, it is not acceptable. Dr. Laufer is located in a newer facility in Dunedin, FL close to the Dunedin Causeway. If you have a person dropping you off for surgery they can bring a book or their sneakers and go to the Causeway.

Thank you Beth! I'm hoping he will do the right thing to avoid all of this but I have yet to hear from the office

How can you say you have not heard from our office? It is the furthest thing from the truth. I have very clear emails and documentation between you, me and our staff, dating back to January 16. I have spent an enormous amount of time and care reading and responding to you offering many suggestions to help rectify any concerns. You have neglected to entertain one single suggestion including returning to see Dr. Laufer. The last time you were seen for a post op visit was less than three weeks after your surgery. Patient satisfaction is our priority. How could we possibly address any concerns if you did not return? Julie Street, R.N.

Hi Julie, The only suggestion that I recall is to pay $1500 for the replacement of the incorrect implant that is too large, was a size not consented to, and still causing pain. Please let me know via a private email if there are other options.

My right breat is much more volumous than the left. For some reason a larger implant was placed. My breasts are now different cup sizes and I do not fit into a bra due to this difference. I have had pain in both, but the pain in the larger implant is often debilitating and produces neuropathy.

I had a terrible experience with this doctor as well. Did everything end up working out?

Not yet. My case is with the medical board right now and they have been amazing in helping me out. I have an amazing physician that removed the implants and I received money back from Mentor Warranty as I had Class III capsulation. Would love to connect and talk a little more about your experience!

Still No Help From Doctor
GoldieLMay 8, 2016
It has been 137 days since my procedure and 136 days of continuous pain in my right breast. In my opinion, there is no immediacy to assist me. It is true that I did not attend my three month follow up appointment, mostly because I lacked trust and became concerned about what I perceive as the lack of information in my file as well as the confusion of exactly how the situation was to be fixed. I had a plane ticket booked to attend the post op, but as things continued to decline, I decided to not spend further money without a guarantee of help. I am still hopeful that a resolution can be found but the relationship is pretty damaged in my opinion. I continue to be in a great deal of pain. I decided to try on a regular bra as I have been living in sports bras. Sure enough, the right breast was still too big to fit. Everyday I just hope it will magically resolve itself. Not so much. I have received definitive correspondence from the office that stated they will help me but not until I take down my negative review. This is the second time I was asked to take down my review and upon complying, the doctor will talk to me. He will not talk to me before that because a negative review does not equal trust. In my opinion, an incorrectly placed implant size causing two different cup sizes and constant pain, also does not create trust. I was hopeful that we would be able to work together and this would have been an amazing success story of client/provider interaction but not quite yet. Still hopeful, but in the mean time, I have been meeting with other doctors to try and find out what my options are to first and foremost, get out of pain.

Pictures of Procedure
GoldieLJune 4, 2017
Here are a few pictures that are being used by the FL Medical Board as well as the Mentor Warranty to be able to receive my warranty due to Class III capsulation. Dr Laufer found these photos to show no issue with the implants and results. Warranty would especially beg to differ as they hoered the warranty. Notice the compression of the lateral and medial borders. My body was clearly rejecting the implant. I had been in severe pain as well and had expressed that daily, yet Dr. Laufer seemed to think it was fine and quoted me a charge to $1500 to fix his error.

I hope you are able to get this taken care of & get the results you want . Have you found a new PS for the revisions ? After care is so important & sadly it seems there are doctors out there that once they have your money, everything else is out the window :( Best of luck to you .

Thank you for your support! Yes, I have found an amazing doctor! I have removed the implants and did a lift. I will have to post pictures once the healing is complete. I am happy, and very lucky, to report that I love the results after the removal. So blessed to find a good PS that wanted to listen and help. I have found some strong interest in the local media for wanting to feature my story as a comsumer advocate piece and willing to feature the doctor as well. Currently, working out the details with one particular media outlet in Tampa. Just hoping no one else makes the same mistake I did by chosing a doctor that did the incorrect procedure and size and then could care less. Live and learn!
