I wanted breast implants to look more proportionate with the rest of my body and to give my breasts a fuller look after the results of breastfeeding as well as getting very lean for my work as a professional cheerleader. The advice I have for anyone considering breast augmentation is to be sure you are comfortable with taking time to recover. It is better for your results and the healing just needs to happen! I also recommend not booking your surgery until you are 100% comfortable with your surgeon. That is what I did, and I am so happy I did not go to someone else! I loved my experience and I love my results.
I am ecstatic with my results and I have Dr. Oppenheimer to thank for how much it has changed my life. I booked a breast augmentation with Dr. Oppenheimer the day I met him. I had been to at least three other surgeons but never felt comfortable enough with anyone to go through with my breast augmentation. I told my husband that I was ready to give up. My husband, who is also a doctor, recommended that I look at Dr. Oppenheimer's Instagram @OrlandoNipTuck. Everyone's results looked nice and he had great reviews so I was willing to give my dream surgery one more chance. My husband and I met Dr. Oppenheimer and Nurse Christina who were warm, non-judgmental, caring, patient, and attentive to my concerns. He listened to what I wanted and offered all my options. Even though I could express general look I wanted, I needed to find a surgeon whose expertise could translate my idea into a procedure - this is *exactly* what I found in Dr Oppenheimer. I was open-minded, so I also trusted him to tell me the size that he thought would give me the best result. He never pushed me on any particular size or type of implant, which is something I had experienced with other surgeons. I appreciated that he was honest and clear about the results I could expect. Something that really set this consultation apart was seeing my possible post-op results with the 3-D camera. This not only helped me reach my final decision about going through with the surgery but allowed me to choose the size and type of implant I liked best. Being able to see it in a picture like that removed a ton of stress and really got me excited about my results. In addition, he also provided me with documentation that required my very physical job to give me several weeks of light duty. At NO time did I ever feel pressured or pushed in any way about any aspect of the surgery. I really felt they wanted me to feel good about my body and just wanted to be part of making it happen. At my other pre-op appointments, his nurse, Christina, spent extra time to explain how to get ready for the procedure, what I could expect in recovery, and worked with me to try on practice implants with my clothes. My surgery day was smooth and easy! I relaxed in a waiting room with my husband and left a few hours later. When I needed post-op medication changed, Dr Oppenheimer was happy to change it to a medication that addressed my needs and Nurse Christina called it into the pharmacy for me so I wouldn't have to go all the way to the office to get a prescription slip. I am now 4 weeks post-op and I am absolutely, completely happy with my results! The shape and size are exactly what I wanted and I have surprised myself with how much it has changed my life. Of course, I feel more confident about my body and my shape which now looks more proportionate and I feel comfortable wearing a swimsuit or getting undressed in front of my husband. What I did not expect is that feeling more secure about this part of my body gave me confidence in every area of my life. I was previously a professional cheerleader but this confidence-inducing experience inspired me to leave that appearance-based part of my life for a while and pursue a second degree. I am now in school to become a nurse (just like Christina!) and eventually I want to be a commissioned Navy Nurse Corps Officer. I wish I could find more ways to emphasize how highly I recommend Dr. Oppenheimer. I LOVE my new body and this experience was such a positive one because of the compassion and professionalism shown by the amazing medical team led by Dr. Oppenheimer.
