ALL I WANTED TO FIX WAS A SMALL POUCH AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED

ORIGINAL POST

So this is what I've ended up with after two...

So this is what I've ended up with after two procedures trying to fix this obvious mess. I have grown to hate reading advice about it's too soon to tell, it's going to get better, you need to massage blah blah blah. Yes I'm bitter but can you blame me? Any suggestions? Not interested in a tummy tuck which is what the doctor suggested after his screwup

Ugh, so sorry that happened to you. I've got the same issue, and my surgeon also tells me I now need a tummy tuck. He says the hideous blobby stomach is because I have now "loose skin, like when someone loses a lot of weight." Not true, because my stomach, like yours does not look any flatter after the procedure, and that's not loose skin, on you or me - it's dimples and folds that were NOT there before our surgeons got carried away with their cannulas! It's been over one year now for me, still looks like yours, even with daily massaging. I just ordered a Derma Roller, which someone on RealSelf suggested might help, so we'll see. If not, maybe another surgeon can fix it, but then we'd have to come up with the money again. Hope someone on here has a solution for you and me both!

Thank you for your post, I'm sure you're as fed up as I am. I have read about others who have had tummy tuck to correct what happened to us but I just can't get myself to go through something like that when in reality I never needed one. I'm so thin, I have no fat and I can't believe a TT is the only solution.. this is shocking. I believe this is scar tissue, maybe somehow it can be dissolved?
April 8, 2017
I don't believe it's scar tissue. I was told by one surgeon that I visited afterward that this "defect" usually occurs when the performing surgeon gets "overzealous" on a thin person, or suctions an excess of fat in one area, causing the dimples and dips. Supposedly massage during the early stages of recovery helps redistribute the fat, but I was diligent with massaging and still came away with that result. I posted a question for the doctors here about it, but I think I worded it poorly because they surgeons focused on the wrong issue. But you can see my pics on this site if you type JPkid in the search link above. (I would put the link here but I don't know if that's allowed) The pictures don't do it justice (cheap camera) because it looks worse than that, and they were taken 4 months post op. Some of the folds got less obvious with vigorous exercise, but the dimples got more pronounced. Aaargh! Oh, I was also told that fat transfer to the deep places might help, but I don't know if I want to chance that. Hopefully some other folks will chime in soon with the perfect solution. If not, I'll let you know if the Derma Roller does anything. : )

Hi JPKid, I feel very much what you are going through after seeing your pics. I massaged, did radio frequency and cool sculpting but still left with a mess. I'm going to see if I post a question about our issue what will doctors say years after the procedure, they tend to say it's to early to tell which drives me insane.

I also wonder how to get the Doc. to redo or smooth the mess. The contract I signed said they redo after 6 months. I was told it's too soon--- then again told give it time, your sign is not that young- now it's too late to even get a discounted much less do-over free and I can't justify more cash out with no way of knowing it'll fix it!
May 4, 2017
Thanks for sharing I won't go to this one.
May 4, 2017
I had a botched procedure and was told the same bs- I made the doctor do a 2nd tummy tuck at no charge- fixed
May 5, 2017
Sounds like you found the right way out and you're happy now, I'm so happy for you. I don't want the scar associated with the TT, I'm waiting to see if in a few years it's perfected and the scar is much smaller.

I'm curious when others are able to get a re-do or even a completely new procedure without additional cost. I seemed to sign my life away before the procedure. I was told if it was unsatisfactory I could get a re-do by the same doctors after 6 months, but would be charged for the room, nurse, meds & anthesthia. Also, when I did complain, at 4-6-11 months I was told by staff I looked great, give it time... after a year of course- no deal! And why would I let the same Doc and trust them???? I liked my smooth, slightly chubby tummy much better!

I'm sorry you're so discouraged. I understand you wanting to give up - getting your hopes up only to be let down again is devastating. I hope something turns up for you even if you've quit searching. Good things can still happen.
May 8, 2017
Thank you for your kind words... it was a pick me up, made me feel better and I agree, no quitting! I just received a Faciablaster, Im curious to see if it will help. Thanks again.
August 8, 2017
Returned facia, not doing it heck no! Once I had it in my hand I got this sick feeling it wasn't the right thing for me so I didn't even try it just returned it
August 8, 2017
Kinda glad you didn't try it - in spite of all the glowing reports, I've heard some scary stuff about it. My verdict is not in yet on the Lipo Revision that I had done 1 month ago, since my belly seems to have good days and bad days, lol. I'm trying to be patient, since it supposedly takes three months to see the ALMOST final results. If you haven't seen pictures from my revision yet, they're under my "Still Hoping..." review under JPkid.

I have one of these things. When i use it on my tummy, i swell up soooooo much and it last for bout a week. Only thing i will use it on are my thighs now.
June 15, 2017
By any chance do you have a before picture of your stomach before the lipo?
June 17, 2017
Just loaded a before pic hun
June 18, 2017
I'm so sorry for what happened to you! I hope something works out for you. If anything, you are more than your body! It's sad how us women put so much pressure on how we look. I look similar to you and go back.and forth rather to risk lipo
August 10, 2017
Holy crap I LOVE THE RESULTS!! How do you feel? Do you c the huge difference?? I think it worked omg. First off I want to say u had an amazing stomach before and I see it pretty close to being amazing now, prob not like before but pretty close. Where's the incision? Seems really low, how long is it? I'm excited for you, i really am
June 25, 2018
Did you get the TT?
January 27, 2024
Hi there. I too had abdominal lips from Dr. Dik and am very unhappy with the results. Did you eventually get a revision from someone? Please let me know. I feel your pain.

Try Endermologie. It smooths, like a deep tissue massage.
July 9, 2017
Thanks for your suggestion, I will look that up right now.
July 9, 2017
Wow, how gorgeous! Devastating what happened to you. I commented to you before that I had a similar experience with similar results. I found a guy who does "liposuction revision" and had my procedure yesterday. No idea how it's going to turn out-it's the usual wait a couple of months and see - but I will try to start a review and post my results soon. If it works for me, maybe that is an option for you - expensive, but at least it's not a tummy tuck!
July 9, 2017
Hi thanks for your comment, it sounds promising hope it works. Are you wearing a compression garment? doing anything different this time? Please keep me posted and I will definitely follow you if you post. I'm excited for you and hoping for the best.
July 9, 2017
I'm wearing a compression garment that is totally different from the one the first surgeon gave me. First guy gave me a wrap-around velcro number which constantly rode up or down. This surgeon gave me a full-body thing that looks like shapewear but sturdier - it goes from my knees to just under my breasts and has a large opening for hygiene or whatever so I don't have to keep taking it off each time I go to the bathroom. It hurts a lot more this time around, and drained a LOT, but to me that is promising because it is so different. This surgeon said he took my fat and spun it in some device to "purify" it, whatever that means, so maybe it will take better. I will let you know when I post with pics and a lot more details, hopefully this evening or tomorrow some time.

How did the liposuction revision go ? I'm getting desperate to find a solution . Why do we put our bodies through these things .
August 7, 2017
Hi, I am one month out, so I'm not sure yet. Some days it looks better, some days I see some ripples and bumps and I panic. I'm going to add pics to my own review this evening - my review is here on RealSelf under JPkid.
August 7, 2017
I have come to terms with my horrific stomach, thank god I'm happily married because I know I wouldn't be so calm about it. Don't get me wrong I'm very embarrassed about my stomach and my bellybutton looks like it's 80 years old. I've always been skinny with no fat so having a tummy tuck is just so outrageous to me. I don't believe there's a simple solution, I believe a tummy tuck right now is the only solution and I'm not doing that, no way I'm going to accept that terrible scar on my body.

I've got a scare from a surgery years ago and I really don't want to go under the knife again . Have you tried anything else are you have excepted it for what it is
August 8, 2017
Haven't tried a thing... don't want to end up worst, can you imagine? That's all I need. FYI I'm planning a mini/lower facelift yup lord Jesus I'm praying
August 8, 2017
Hey! How are you?? How did the revision go? God I pray you're happy now. I've done nothing for my stomach I'm just scared it's going to be worst if I do.
August 8, 2017
I have a similar result post smart lipo. Let me know if you and others are interested in getting some professional help.
August 11, 2017
Try the non surgical 3D lipo or exillis to help with the lumps. It makes a massive difference.
August 11, 2017
Really? Some say Exilis is a waste of money, I've never tried it and don't know much about but I'll look it up, thank you for the advice
August 11, 2017
I got some 3D lipo and I lipo done as part of my aftercare and they really made a difference as I had a lot of lumps. I've only had exillis done once. I'm going to have more treatments to help with a funny bit I keep noticing. It's uncomfortable like a really strong massage but it did help. X
