I had my surgery with Dr Nogueira on May 30th 2016. I said to myself I would wait for around a year after my surgery before writing a review. I really can't believe how perfectly sound everything has been. I had consulted with Dr Nogueira over the phone, and after two months of speaking with him, I decided to book. On the day of surgery, he saw me, took blood tests, had an x-ray of my chin taken and I was escorted to my room. When it was time for surgery, I was practically shaking, but he was very reassuring and made me feel at ease. I am really grateful to him and his assistant, Yolanda. She was very sweet and attentive. My recovery was not so bad. It was uncomfortable for the first three days (I hated that I could not breathe through my nose because it was stuffed, to control any bleeding. I ate soft foods for 10 days, and then resumed gradually to hard foods. Within a month, I was practically back to normal. After two weeks, I removed the plaster from my nose, and I was a little taken aback as my nose appeared too high, a bit like a piggy nose. But after speaking with the Dr he reassured me this would go down with time. And he was right. It did after a week. My nose looked perfect for two weeks before it began swelling (this can happen as the plaster is keeping the nose down and clamping down on swelling, once it is removed, the nose is free to swell. I have thick oily skin, so my swelling was quite much. But because I saw what my nose looked like before the swelling, I knew what the end result was going to be, and I was happy to ride out the swelling. It is now one year and a lot of my swelling has gone down. The tip remains swollen, but I have read and been informed it can take up to 18 months if you have thick skin. Even if it doesn't go down, it still looks great, so I really don't care! I do love my knew nose and I look amazing. People that don't know me can't even tell, and Dr Nogueira did promise to make it as natural as possible and refused to do any obvious looking work to it, which I actually liked. As for my chin, I had gone in originally for sliding genioplasty only. However, after taking an x-ray, DR Nogueria informed me that he thinks I need some widening also. He was so so so right. Had he not widened my chin, I would have looked awful. None of the other doctors I spoke to previously told me I needed my chin widened. He has an eye for detail, so please trust him when he advises you. He knows what he is doing and he will won't recommend anything he does not believe will look good on you. He cares for his patients and his work and you are in good hands. I no longer have a rabbit looking lower face, no receded chin, my jaw is now more prominent (I actually get complimented on my jaw!) I never believed I'd ever hear one because my jaw was nonexistent prior to surgery. My face looks balanced and everything has healed really nicely. I still have a little swelling in my chin, but like my nose, if it doesn't change, I am happy. IT still looks great. Best decision I ever made. Thank you so much Dr Nogueira!
