I decided to go forward with a rhinoplasty/septoplasty performed by Dr. Levine after a consultation in which she explained that I would not only be able to breathe better, but that the cosmetic appearance of my nose would be greatly approved. She was very attentive and she and her office staff guided me through the particular of the surgeries, my expected results, insurance info and scheduling a surgery date.
However, after the surgery, her entire demeanor changed.
It was impossible to get ahold of her post-op when I had questions about drainage/bleeding. My follow-up appointments lasted less than 5 minutes. She literally could not get me out of her office fast enough. My wait time in the waiting room was longer than the appointment itself! It is every patient's worse nightmare, especially after spending my hard-earned, saved money on these procedures.
I was stunned at how callous and disinterested she was after surgery. It is now six months after my procedures and I have made little improvement. I still suffer from sinus infections and my breathing has become even worse.
Although my nose is only slightly smaller than before surgery, it is now curved to one side and hurts if I put the slightest amount of pressure on the bridge. I am not a patient with unrealistic expectations, and understand that results vary from patient to patient, but I feel very taken advantage of by Dr. Levine and my trust in her has been completely destroyed.
I am so disappointed in my results as well as Dr. Levine's 'bait and switch' methods. She not only refused to acknowledge/discuss my results in a meaningful way or offer suggestions for improvement, but completely dismissed my concerns by saying "at least it looks better than it did before." This is not the treatment that I would have expected from a NYC plastic surgeon who touts herself as a leading doctor in the field.
BEWARE OF DR. LEVINE! She will appear extremely kind and knowledgable in your initial consultation, until the moment she receives your check/insurance money - whereupon you will be completely forgotten and swept under the rug with the many other dissatisfied patients.
In short, if you are considering a rhinoplasty or septoplasty, PLEASE AVOID DR. LEVINE! Find a plastic surgeon who can deliver real results and will not disappear once your money is in her hands.
